Yeah I know about Series 2. I'll probably get Hans..

Now THAT, I'd buy. :lol

Got Luke. I think those of you on the fence are going to break down and get these. Luke's hair isn't as bad as these high resolution photos make them look. No need for a repaint for me. Excited to see the Sandtrooper. I think Han is gonna blow me away in hand despite spotty prototype images. Bring on Chewie soon, Hasbro!

I opened mine up and got to spend some quality time with them today:

Must say, I am pretty blown away by all four! I wasn't even planning on getting Maul, but he turned out great! I've read a lot of gripes about R2 but I am digging him as well. I'm officially hooked on this line I think.

Finally, someone that didn't overextend his leg! I'll be tempted to get him for sure. I would have to give him a wash to make the details pop after cutting off those dumb tabs on his doors. Any indication that the seam can be sanded down/repainted to be less noticeable? So sad to see them screw up such an important character. Your pics show me I'll likely pull the trigger on him when I find him in the store.

Just found some great reviews on youtube for these.

I'm looking at the closeup of R2 in these pictures and thought you'd probably not want a wash on it but instead use a fine tip black marker to panel lined it. Details should pop that way.

Or if you have time on your hands, tear down that little bugger. Repaint it matte milk white and put back all the details blue, chrome, panel lining etc. R2 should look awesome that way. But lots of work.

My SDCC Boba arrived today and I can't put it down. It's the finest Boba Fett figure I've ever owned. Better than my old Marmit, which was nice but too fragile and doll-like. This thing is ALL TOY. It's durable, it's poseable, yet it's still a freaking work of art.

This really is the perfect scale....I know this is primarily a 1/6th board...but this figure just ruined me. I want ALLLLL my favorites in this scale with this level of detail and articulation. Classic Storm Shadow and Snake Eyes. Kaneda from AKIRA. Micheal Keaton Batman.

Oh well....none of those exist so I guess it's gonna have to be Maul next! I can hold out on a Luke and Trooper til wave 3....but I gotta get another fix! Darth Maul it is!!

I'd love to do that. But yeah, lots of work. Are the Koto Astromechs ridiculously huge compared to a 6" figure? Aren't they 7" scale? So I get to choose between an underwhelming/undersized version of R2 or an ultradetailed/oversized R2.

I'll wait to see this in hand before I investigate the Koto piece further.

Personally, if I was going to get a Star Wars figure I'd go up to the 1/6th scale, but I'm just over star wars collecting after the glut from the 90's.

I'm also amazed people would pay $150 for that SDCC Boba Fett. You could get a nice 1/6th scale Fett for that price. They look good for what they are, but they're still just little hunks of plastic haha.

Does anyone know if the packaging is collector friendly on these?

Very. Slit the tape, slide out the plastic, and remove the figure. No rubber bands or twist ties present.

I quit collecting Star Wars in 2005. 10 years of collecting with no end in sight. I was getting annoyed by their choices to resculpt, recard, and rehash the same things over and over. Not to mention rising prices and awful distribution. What had once started as a fun hobby filled with many memories, I realized it was a chore and hadn't been appealing for a number of years.

Now 8 years later, Hasbro has given me an AFFORDABLE option to get into some collector friendly lines. I could get 15 of these for the price of one HT Luke. Yes, the quality isn't as great, but I'm done with high end 1/6 stuff. Too much money, too fragile to play with often, and they take up too much space.

I'm not going overboard on this line. I won't be a completionist. I won't be an army builder. I won't have them all on display at once taking up an entire room. I'll limit the space and just change it up once in a while. Swapping Luke's and Hans heads onto Stormie bodies for instance will save me the money of having to buy Hasbro's inevitable release of them in Stormie disguise.

Unfortunately I don't own any Koto's droids, can't give any inputs here..

The packaging is very neat. I'm a fan of these "boxed" packagings like most of DC Direct stuff. I keep them even though the figure is on a shelf or desk. Card blisters/clamshells like NECA's and McFarlane's usually end up in the garbage bin.

I had packed the camera earlier this week so didn't take any pictures. In the process of moving into our first house! By the time I get to the camera, you'll all hopefully have found these in stores.

I have moved on to the 1/6 scale world of collecting. Not going to be doing this line. Having said that I will (like NECA) pick up random figures I find interesting. Only one that from series 1 is Sandtrooper. True once you have the SSC Boba Fett the 6" Boba is a easy pass!!

If the 3 3/4" Vintage line comes back I will return. I loved that packaging!!!
