Re: Hasbro legends 6" sw figures

Wow nice job, great figure looks even better.

That looks really sharp! Very lifelike with the way the weathering is distributed. If I had to make one suggestion, I have seen some people throw a dot of black on the lower knee peg heads so they blend in with the undersuit more, and I think that little detail would make your realistic Sandtrooper really pop.

Good suggestion. When I repainted mine, I added black to the pegs, eyes holes and the bottom of the boots. The 3" figure had the boots painted correctly, not sure how they missed it on the 6".

Thought I was done with this round, but TRU must have just gotten their Holiday stock in, they had 5 Sandies, so I couldn't resist buying another one. :yess:

Will be seeking therapy soon if I don't stop. This wasn't even a line I had planned on getting into.

Yeah I saw four in the shelf at target the other day and it took all I had in me to just.... walk..... away. BUT, I did it. Two is enough!

Brilliant man!!! :clap :rock

Thanks guys, and I will paint the white joint pegs, and I think I will lower the backpack as well.

Cheers,

BOBBY

I was going to suggest lowering the backpack. I'm happy with mine as is but once you start making this look this great, why stop short of perfection? Looking forward to seeing the final product.

When you lower the backpack, I'd love to see a pic of how you do it. I've thought about it, but it seems like you'd have to rebuild a lot of support in there to keep the peg durable.

That Anakin head sculpt can't be production. You can tell the head was hand painted.

I've grown to accept the high pack on the Sandtroopers, and the only thing I've done to mine are paint a black and white pauldron for my second and third figure, but I would still love to find a good way to fix it. Do you have any ideas?

I'd argue it looks a lot better. I knew that one paint job with those horrendous eyes wouldn't be on the shelves. This looks great. Remember all the glop and flaws aren't as noticeable in-hand as they are with macro photography. If you look long and hard enough at ANY Hasbro figure, there are imperfections. I would like to find the ones with the best eyes and the best overall paint apps and settle for that one. I have a case preordered from BBTS because I fear Boba Fett will be nearly impossible to find for months and will be getting one of these blindly. If it's bad, I'll buy her in the store and swap this one out. Not too concerned with that to be honest.

And before anyone says they've messed up the scaling on these....

It surprises me too. All the iconic shots I remember of them, Han is slouched down to meet her level or in an action pose. Not digging Han's giraffe neck. Hoping it looks better with the vest on. It's probably extended so that it can be seen through all the layers of his outfit. My biggest issue with scaling is Luke and the Sandtrooper. Was Mark Hamill really too short to be a stormtrooper? I didn't realize he was... I'm used to all the 3 3/4" guys being the same height. Maybe that's why the R2 doesn't bug me as much as it does some. Yes it bugs me, but he's been out of scale for so long it isn't as surprising as some make it out to be.

Agree. Glad I PO'd the whole set now....

One thing I did notice are the wider hips/butt. If Carrie Fisher had waist to hip proportions like that I would have started masturbating at 6.

Best post ever!

I was going to say she looked a lot better in these latest pics, but was afraid to :)

Please. You came out of the womb with the umbilical cord in one hand and your **** in the other. Doctor had to let you finish before he could clean your nasal passages. :lol

:lol Overall it's much better as well, of course.

Greedo's eyes look a little weird though, with the oval shape. Anyone notice that?

I'd heard it brought up, it's not striking me as inaccurate. I think he looks great. The thing that bugs me most about Greedo are the silver eyes. Aren't they supposed to be glossy black? A very easy fix if that's the case. Or am I just remembering the toys again rather than the actual production design?

Wave 2 looks good to me - not too worried about Greedo's eyes - that pick is way, way, way bigger than real life, so I'll wait to see how the in-hand figure looks.
