Re: Hasbro line officially dead!

Try hitting the Kroger stores like Ralph's and King Soopers, they are turning up there.

Re: Hasbro line officially dead!

Yeah I know, I was really surprised about it. I hit my local Ralph's and they had a bunch of harder to find G.I. Joe figs like Snow Serpent, they also had a lot of Star Wars and Indy figs. I guess Indy figs are showing up in the grocery stores because Kroger made a deal with Hasbro. Let me know if you find the Doom figs...

Re: Hasbro line officially dead!

Well, with this line going the way of the dodo and the figs being tossed into clearance bins I thought this might be as good a time as any to say sayonara Indy... We hardly knew ya.

Here's the complete 3 3/4 collection (minus a certain cranky Senior who's on the way-- thanks Josh).

Re: Hasbro line officially dead!

That's a nice looking collection you have. It's a shame Indy Hasbro line didn't go well because I thought they got off to a great start.

Re: Hasbro line officially dead!

Only things I really wished they would have done if this line was only going to get one wave for each movie:

1) Toht rather than Monkey Man
2) An Indy in tux from the beginning of ToD
3) A Nazi soldier rather than the Grail Knight
4) A Mac, Ox, and Marion (one or more should have been packed with the temple environment thus ensuring that collectors would buy it--- rather than the included Indy and warriors).

Overall though I'm glad they released what they did. At least we finally got those for our collections.

Re: Hasbro line officially dead!

Yeah, the absence of Toht really makes the line feel incomplete. Apparently the reason we didn't get him in the first waves was because he was slated as a part of a planned "Vintage Style" wave, packaged on the old style cards like the "Vintage Style" Star Wars figures. That idea was scrapped and he got pushed back the second wave of Raiders figures which was supposed to some out after the Temple of Doom wave in 09...but sadly got canned along with the entire line.

I've managed to get the whole 3 3/4" line with the exception of the cloth canopy truck (which I don't want) and am very happy with what we did get, but saddened by all that was ahead that we may never see...like the Raiders wave 2 and other things Hasbro alluded to like a Flying Wing. Someone on the Raider.net forums saw a shelf tag at Wal-Mart that said "Deluxe Short Round with Mine Cart" the other day! Man, what might have been....

Re: Hasbro line officially dead!

I'm new here, but I just wanted to add to the legion... I really wanted that last Raiders wave. Toht looked like he would be PERFECT and that Marion looked like it could make me forgive Hasbro for her first release... :(

Re: Hasbro line officially dead!

Well again (now that Henry Sr. has finally arrived [thanks The Josh]-- and then the next week I find four of them :banghead in the clearance bin) here's a sad goodbye to what was a great line.

All four waves (plus some customs).

Prof. Jones Jr. giving a lecture about the Ark of the Covenant.

My favourite wave (TOD)-- sadly the last but glad I found them in the clearance bin so I didn't get scalped on e-bay (even found mutiple "army" doubles to back up Mola)

Re: Hasbro line officially dead!

Man o man, I hope I cross paths with that TOD wave someday...set-up looks great! Should've picked up that Akator playset when I saw it for clearance...makes a good display for the collection...
Here's my current display...

Thanks, but it's kind of hard to stomach paying $83.99 + shipping for those, considering that half of the figures in the wave are clearance fodder going for $1 to $3 apiece now. It's like paying $14+ apiece for a complete set of the TOD figures. :(

I like your setup too JB.

Did you never get the jungle cutter either?... It makes for a nice display piece with the Reds.

By the way, I got my 12" Dovchenko today from BBTS and it's a really great 1/6 representation. He should go well with the Medi KOTCS Indy.

I hear you. I think this is the cheapest way to get them now though without luckily stumbling upon them somewhere. Entertainment Earth has them on back order for 89.99 + shipping and Brian's toys is selling only the TOD set for $124. or $119. + shipping for the case.:monkey2 I know I'm tired of the local brick and mortar store hunt.
stupid hasblo...canceling the line:monkey3

Re: Hasbro line officially dead!
