That's not how I read it. Sounded like Hasbro wants to encourage people to purchase across the different lines. But we'll find out for sure soon enough.

It's definitely 1 for each line. You'll have to buy the 12" figures to get the 12" Ark.

Love the Mighty Muggs, especially Mola Ram. Nothing else is really grabbing me.

The Ark's kind of cool, but I'm not wasting my money on the 12" figures to mail-away for it.

I wonder if the mouth on the 12" scale Indy figure - the one in the jacket - is going to move? There are holes in the chest for the sound, but it also looks like there might be a mechanism in the mouth to move it. Check out this photo:

Given that SS look to be doing such a superb job, I'm happy for the Hasbro one to be as fun and gimmicky as possible.

Yeah, the mouth on the talking Indy moves. I guess the face will be some type of soft rubber material.

I can't believe you guys are complaining about buying 4 figures that will cost in total $80 (and not horrible looking figures at that) but will be paying in excess of that for 1 figure from SSC no questions asked. LOL.

I bet many of you have expensive SSC items sitting in boxes in the attic so whats the difference.

In addition, when SSC makes an Ark trust it will be $50+.

It just seems silly for high end collectors to whine because a lower end collectible company is making something you want for a change but you don't like how its being offered. :monkey2

Personally, I think its great that Hasbro is making 12" figures and giving kids, young and old, an affordable way of building a collection.

I'm sorry, but they ARE pretty horrible-looking to me.

You need to let go of your nostalgic sentimental attachment to Hasbro, my friend. It is clouding your mind. ;)

But you'll be happy to know that I plan to buy Hasbro's cheap $20 Indy for my 5 year old son. :)

It is a bit lame, and I think that the reason it is being offered as a mail away not sold in stores) is they know many collectors will want the Arc, but not necessarily the crappy figures.

Which they are crappy, fine for kids, but if Hasbro wanted to they could make them look better and still make a killing.

The real reason behind the mail-away, of course, is that it's a gimmick. And Hasbro has been all about cheap gimmicks for years now.

Well of course, they know more people will buy 4 crappy figures just to get the Arc. I guess it would be nice to have a kid around for this one, but no children yet so I'm gonna pass. I just can't justify buying those figures on principle.

And to be honest, SSC is also about gimmicks.

The whole idea behind exclusives is a gimmick to get people to pay 10% more than they can get it from a retailer (which probably really nets SSC 30-40% or more since they sell to retailers at wholesale prices).

Then of course there is the ultra limited items that SSC loves to make so they have 1 out of every 50 items they make actually go up in value.

No biggies either way, I like both companies a lot.

I think the Ark is a great gimmick though because I don't think it would be a great seller at retail anyway. Similar to the Djarik table not being a huge seller.

Also, I'm sure Hasbro could make these better and they could also charge $50 for them. But that isn't exactly their business. I don't think its fair to say Hasbro can stand to lower their margins without saying the same to SSC.

Its the principle of Hasbro offering something on Target and TRU shelves for the budding 12" collector as opposed to the 25-40 year old uber collectors that actually makes me want this line despite there possibly being better product.

I plan on picking and choosing between both SSC and Hasbro.

I'd love to get that ark, but I have to honestly ask myself, 'would I hate myself if I bought $80 worth of crap Hasbro 12" figures?'

The answer is yes!

I'll wait for Sideshow to release one

In case anyone thinks that Hasbro's Mailaway 1/6 Ark shown at Toy Fair isn't accurate or is too shiny:
