Hasbro's new Rancor (from Force Unleashed)

That is pretty cool - I still love the paint apps on the POTF2 one, but now that we have this Unleashed one, all they need to do is a simple repaint!

Yeah, the paint apps on the POTF2 are indeed better. Especially the feet. But, wow... this new sculpt/size is nice!

It is Hasbro, I'm sure they'll do it, I'm surprised they didn't just rehash the POTF2 for this one.

Another cool feature. It looks to be rubber like the POTF2, but has an articulated jaw.

Rumors were flying that they would reuse this mold for a ROTJ Rancor even before we saw pictures of this guy.

I may need to buy the ROTJ one when it comes.

While it's not likely, a ROTJ version could come in even a bit cheaper as there doesn't have to be a figure included, though in Hasbro fashion they'll repack the Jedi Luke that came out in the TAC wave, but there won't be a harness either. I think the POTF2 Rancor was like $30-$40 back in the day so this would be a bargain I think. I definitely want one but I'll wait for Hasbro to repaint it rather than get this and have someone here repaint it, the repaint will cost more than the figure .

I can sort of understand and condone what Hasbro does trying to put myself in the POV of a child. The figures you see warming pegs are the 4-Lom's and the obscure bounty hunters and such of the Star Wars universe but you don't see a lot of Luke and Han and Vader sitting on the shelves, so I understand the idea of wanting to overproduce them so that kids can get the characters they want.

As far as a future ROTJ Rancor, I'd love to see and happily pay for one if it came with 4 figures:

Oola - New figure, super articulated to sit with Jabba
Gamorrean Guard - New figure, more accurrate sculpting
Jedi Luke - We know it'll happen
Mali Kali (Rancor Keeper) - Rehash of POTF2 figure but newer paint apps, appropriate for inclusion in the set.

Okay, so Hasbro sems to be doing really well with the license right now! Well enough to be releasing some pretty big, intricate stuff like the new Falcon and the EpII troop thingy....so WHERE'S MY SUPER-DUPER JABBA THE HUTT W/THRONE?
Granted, at this point, I'm just gonna stick with me SS version, but still...
