So what happened to the White Walkers?
A couple of seasons ago everybody was terrified of them arriving... winter's coming and all that...
And now nobody seems to be paying any attention to that anymore.

What?

Hardhome was 5 eps ago, which in universe was maybe 2 days ago.

The only people that even know White Walkers exist are the Knight's Watch and the Wildlings, and they're isolated from everyone else. They're both very concerned about them, Sam has left to go learn more. Jon is going to take the Wildlings and presumably take back Winterfell and start gathering forces to combat the WW.

I mean, what else could possibly happen? No other group knows about them.

"Winter is coming" are just the Stark words. It's not code for "the White Walkers are coming".

Really? I thought it was sort of known in the higher circles. Didn't somebody send a raven some time ago warning everybody?
Oh well, maybe I should watch the earlier seasons again... :lol

Agreed. Nobody really knows that the White Walkers actually exist except those who have seen them and lived to tell about it. Of course, that would now include a ****load of Wildlings, but nobody outside of their clique is going to be sharing that with anybody else anytime soon. However, if Jon can now somehow convince at least one or two of the lesser houses that the threat is quite real, the word might start spreading. But, of course, in true Westeros fashion, everybody is still too busy with vying for their claims to the North.

I think that by the very end of this season, the White Walkers are finally going to make it south of the Wall. In fact, my prediction is that it's either going to be during or right after the predicted Battle of the *******s. It's going to change the game for everyone, and while some houses are going to fall by the wayside, some are going to be forced to ally with others as the threat sweeps the North. Kings Landing is falling apart, and Dany's vision of ice and know covering the Iron Throne Room is going to be coming quickly after this season's end. So I think the threat of the White Walkers is finally going to be the real deal by the end of this season. Remember, there aren't many episodes left if the producers have their way.

Which leads me to another theory... What if Ramsay is turned into a White Walker? That would be really interesting. We've seen them turn a baby into a White Walker, so in a way the precedence has been set. It just seems no sort of demise would dramatically befit Ramsay Bolton at this point, and I think the show has gone out of its way to suggest that just as Ramsay believes himself invincible, he very well may be somewhat invincible. Having him somehow escape the Battle of the *******s and getting surrounded by White Walkers at the end of the season would be crazy awesome. Just throwing that out there ;)

Or he may just get a sword in the gut (but it would have to be Jon Snow's sword). Or maybe it will be Sansa's dagger to through the back of his neck? Maybe that flashback with Ned is foreshadowing!

Yeah that is kind of the point. You have all these petty squabblers planning for power in their little places but they have no idea of the impending doom about to come out of the north.

What would everyone rate as their...

Top 3 episodes

and...

Top 3 scenes?

Top 3 episodes for me is easy: "The Watchers on the Wall," "The Children," and "Hardhome." Not only are those episodes thoroughly awesome and satisfying, but they all look like movies (actually, better than a lot of movies).

Top 3 scenes is MUCH more difficult. By the gods, man... GoT is a show of "scenes," some of them quite short but dramatically explosive. Outside of the episodes I mentioned, some great scenes that come to mind are Ned getting executed at the last minute by Joffrey, the fight between the Hound and Brienne, the bath scene with Brienne and Jaime, Tyrion's trial (hell, pretty much every scene with Tyrion), Dany's dragonriding stint, Dany's emergence from the fire withe the baby dragons, Brienne being sworn to a knight's duty by Sansa, Cersai's speech to Sansa during the Battle of Blackwater, Oberyn's fight with the Mountain, when Arya first receives the Bravosi coin from Jaquen... and the list goes on! I can't choose three of those :(

Maybe top 3 was too hard! :lol You've mentioned so many great scenes there. Hardhome's last act is up there as a best episode and scene though. I hope this season has some big hitters too!...

Everyone wants Jon snow to off Ramsay Bolton but I'd much rather see the on greyjoy get some revenge.

That's actually an interesting prospect. However, I think Theon is going to join forces with his sister to eventually get rid of Euron Greyjoy (just a prediction). So I don't think the Iron Islands will involved with the Battle of the *******s, and thus Theon will not be involved. However, if Ramsay survives that battle as I predict, then you might be onto something. Theon might just have the pleasure of doing Ramsay in the end. I'd be all right with that :)

Simply killing Ramsay with a sword wouldn't be a worthy death for his character. If it does happen he needs to turn into a white walker or get eaten by his own dogs. Who knows, he may live on and claim the throne!...:lol

The writers must be Ramsay's biggest fans. They love handing him things. By the end of the series, he'll be king of all.

Ha... yes, Ramsay is definitely a cockroach--he survives everything. He's psychotic, fearless and happens to also be a major badass (as witnessed when Ramsay, half naked and with twin daggers, cut down Asha's best men like it was play time). He's also proved himself as a tactician and somewhat of a strategist, since what he did to Theon was part of a longer game. So in George R.R.'s world, he's a truly lethal combination. However, as his father pointed out, he's also a wild animal who will never truly see the larger picture. If he somehow survives this season, then I think he will survive until the end game.

Naaah, I think he's toast.
