Don't think Jon would have asked for trial by combat. He himself wasn't sure if he did the right thing killing Daenerys since he asked Tyrion about it. Seems like he was more resigned to whatever fate was accorded to him.

If he wasn't, he could have just left Kings Landing without telling anyone what happened with Dany. There were no witnesses to the killing. Dany's body and the dragon were both gone. Sure, there was a bloodstain on the ground, but who was to know that it meant her death by Jon? Maybe the dragon ate her and flew away? Maybe it was the blood of a random citizen who was killed during the siege? Being who he is, I'm sure Jon walked up to a guard, told the whole story, and submitted to imprisonment and judgment.

Your champion is dead.

I really, really want that figure though, just like the above photo.

But... but.... but.... They never found his body.....

I can hear this line in Grey Worm's voice: Drogon... 'squished' her?

If only Jon could lie. But then we all wouldn't like him and he would have never been placed in that position.

Bronn would have had to kill her. And Tyrion would have to give him King's Landing to do it. Hail, King Bronn, King of the Brothels! A whore in every bed!

Why did they make Bronn Master of Coin by the way, except to make fans happy? The agreement was Highgarden in exchange for not killing Tyrion and Jaime. Tyrion made good on that. So. . .was it really that he was the best suited to that role of every remaining character? Based on what? I'm fine if it was just to show Bronn one last time in a positive light but don't see the internal logic.

Lannister's owe so much money to High Garden that perhaps giving him charge over finance was a way to pay back?

The Lannisters probably owe the Iron Bank way more than they owe High Garden now. Poor Tyrion is going to have to allow himself to be tossed on the weekends to even make a dent.

But considering how ineffective the Golden Company was in battle the Lannisters should be sueing what remains of them to recoup their loan. Perhaps Tyrion will get those elephants as collateral?

Wow, Jason Momoa sure as hell didn't like the finale. I think he signed the petition. :rotfl

Who cares what he thinks anymore than what anyone else who watched it thought. I am sure he is a nice guy but I would guess that he never even got an actual script for any of the episodes that he was in...showed up...they told him where to stand, when to grunt, and how long they wanted him to angrily stare into the camera. He probably does not know much more about the show than any of the other viewers.

Wow, a little ******** about the fans who didn't like this as much as you did? Lighten up.

Why did they make Sam Grand Maester when he was only there for a few weeks and earned 4 links? He's a good guy, but surely there must be someone more qualified.

The whole ending sequence was there in large part to satisfy casual fans of the show, which is pretty contrary to the early seasons. It was also there because they were in a rush. You could make strong arguments against really all of the positions that were awarded in the last half hour of the finale. I accept it for what it is, didn't love it but didn't really hate it either.

I could not have been lighter...I was actually chuckling about it...?? Not sure why you would assume that there was any anger behind that post but I do keep hearing about some folks who really took it hard that after watching the show for 8 years it did not go the way that they wanted and caused them a little pain...maybe you were projecting your own glum mood onto me? :dunno

Usually they aren't the least qualified regardless of who they know.

How many potential maesters could say they killed a white walker, discovered the rightful kings true lineage, discovered the biggest cache of dragon glass in Westeros just in time through research and cured someone of scale skin for the first time that until then was just theoretical? The kid does his homework and isnt a schemer. That’s a pretty solid resume for someone so young. I’d want him on my advisory board.
