How many potential maesters could say they killed a white walker, discovered the rightful kings true lineage, discovered the biggest cache of dragon glass in Westeros just in time through research and cured someone of scale skin for the first time that until then was just theoretical? The kid does his homework and isnt a schemer. That’s a pretty solid resume for someone so young. I’d want him on my advisory board.
Most of that was just plot necessitated luck. With 4 links he shouldn't even qualify to be a Maester.

A buddy I have in med school is also a hard worker and a great friend. But next time I need surgery im gonna go with the expert Doctor with a 20 year record.

Yo comparing a middle ages style medical to modern day practice? Heck, Mr. Green wouldn't even trust modern day doctors....they're after yo monies. Dentist are the worst. More monie, more problems, understand?!?!

He also told the 3 Eyed Raven something he didn’t know, that probably was enough to impress the boss.
(The boss being the 3 Eyed Raven)
Hey, the wheel is broken anything goes. A new precedent has been set.

Why did they make Sam Grand Maester when he was only there for a few weeks and earned 4 links? He's a good guy, but surely there must be someone more qualified.
Because there was probably no one else left lol.

That whole scene with them around the table was just horribly written. I don't know how long later it is supposed to be, but it just came across as horrible fan fiction. Sam bringing out the Song of Ice and Fire book. Bronn being Master of Coin. Cringeworthy.

Well that's interesting, George RR Martin said that Winds Of Winter should be out by 2020!

Believe it when I have it in my hands :lol

2020? He'll be what by then. 72? 73?

I thought there are suppose to be 2 more books on the way before the series is finished? In that case, will he be make to write the last one? If that's the case, let's hope he lives into his 80s so that happens.

I don't understand the need by so many to know where Drogon and dead Dani went to. I really don't.

Nor do I understand the need for someone -- anyone -- to pop up with blue eyes.

I also liked Drogon flying off without explanation. Maybe one day he returns to torch Bronn's whorehouses, maybe eventually he seeks out the last Targaryen alive, and maybe he is never seen again. I just think it's cool that he is out there, somewhere....and everyone knows it.

Popping back in the thread for the first time since Monday.

There are some “theories” out there that Drogon was taking Danaerys to be resurrected, LOL.

In the sixth season, another Red Priestess was introduced, Kinvara. She pledges allegiance to Danaerys.

I had to rewatch the scenes because I totally forgot about it.

Having said that, this “theory” makes no sense. Ser Beric Dondarrion returned seven times (?, I can’t remember) to fulfill his destiny of keeping Arya Stark alive so she would be the one to kill the Night King (in the series of course). Jon Snow was resurrected...so he could help end the Long Night? Help Dany break the wheel?

Anyways, the theory is silly to me.

Watch GRRM put the last book out with about 100 pages to match the show.

Considering that George said the last two books will have "3000 manuscript pages between them" and "and if more pages and chapters and scenes are needed, I’ll add them." 100 pages won't matter much at all.
Also:
George R.R. Martin said:
How will it all end? I hear people asking. The same ending as the show? Different?

Well… yes. And no. And yes. And no. And yes. And no. And yes.

You do know what year it is now don't you?
By 2020 means this year.
Also there are 7 completed chapters of Winds Of Winter on the net right now, it's further along than we might suspect.
