You do know what year it is now don't you?
By 2020 means this year.
Also there are 7 completed chapters of Winds Of Winter on the net right now, it's further along than we might suspect.

You're right, he said by the time of the 2020 World Science Fiction Convention which is in mid August of next year. Still, it's not too far off from now.

Well, at least 6 of the books will be finished. Hoping "A Dream of Spring" makes it....

It’s funny, I was thinking to myself at the end of the series finale last week just how ape***** the internet would have gone if the screen faded to black after Jon Snow killed Dany...and in The Last Watch documentary at the table read the script ended right after that.

“He looks down at what he’s done, terrible and necessary...end of Game of Thrones”.

Why didn't they conceal any Scorpions within the city? How'd it make sense to have them all on the perimeter and all clearly visible?

Its too bad the show ended like it did.. It went from one of the greatest shows of all time to just.. OK..

Proof that a film / story / series is only as good as its ending.

I didn't hate the final season as a whole but it was a hollow season that just ignored too much that came before it.

Before the season started I was excited to finish it and then start watching the series over again...

I don't think I will ever be doing that now :(

I agree and feel the same. Was looking forward to buying the complete series on bluray at some point and revisiting it when I felt my kids were old enough to watch it with me (currently 13). Down the road maybe I'll change my mind, but at this point in time after the disappointing last season and finale I have no desire to watch this again. Knowing something has en ending that is somewhat of a let down makes it hard to set aside and put in the time to watch the whole series again.

I rewatched the finale last night. Some strong moments but it did leave me sort of deflated. I haven't been as harsh a critic as others here but I would definitely say that the final season overall is the weakest which is a bummer.

The weakest season? I don't remember season 2... what happened in season 2?

Season 1: Ned looses his head
Season 3: red wedding
Season 4: Joffrey bites it
Season 5: shame, shame
Season 6: *******s
Season 7: white walker special delivery

The ability to warg into animals or humans at will and knowing the future could easily be abused.

I don't believe the Three-Eyed Raven has the ability to see the future, only the past and present.

Sadly, there are so many logical inconsistencies with season 8 that it's pretty hard to avoid, and contributes to why they went out with a whimper in my opinion. I'm willing to overlook something like that here or there. But in season 8, it went to an extreme. The strategies used in the battle against the White Walkers made no sense. Bran warging into the ravens didn't have any payoff. Varys drafting letters and taking off his ring didn't have any payoff. Jaimie's behavior made no sense.
The death of dragon #2 was ridiculous, particularly when after that, Dany just decided to fly headlong into the scorpions with no negative consequences. These are just the first few to pop into my head, but every episode I found myself disoriented about how badly things were executed.

Shame. Shame.
