It’s a Bug Hunt

Corporal Dwayne Hicks was a member of the United States Colonial Marine Corps, part of 2nd Battalion Bravo Team. He was a member of the combat unit deployed to LV-426 aboard the USS Sulaco in 2179, to investigate the sudden loss of contact with the colony of Hadley's Hope.

Standing a very impressive 23” tall, this impressively detailed statue meticulously captures every detail of his intricate body armor and clothing. With an authentic likeness of Michael Biehn in character as Hicks, he is ready for action, complete with his Pulse Rifle, Motion Tracker, Personal Data Transmitter Bracelet and his back up shotgun holstered in a scabbard on his back.

Hicks stands astride a highly detailed Aliens themed base complete with dead Facehugger!

This is the HCG Exclusive edition, it comes complete with an additional individually numbered metal nameplate. A regular edition is also available, click here for more details.

I agree the likeness in the face is not there but am pleased to see someone actually trying to bring us a 1:4 Hicks statue.

Yeah that whole ab pad and armor there needs to be 2/3 of the size, other than that great statue. Hopefully this bodes well to Biehn lending his likeness to a new hot toys figure.

Even seeing Hicks done again after all these years is cool. Is it licensing opening up again or HT simply don't want to go after the license?

Because I can't help it...

Praise:
-Almost everything looks great, especially paint
-Most of gear is pretty accurate looking (huge ab pad/plate aside as already mentioned above).
-Pleased to see a rare case of someone NOT using the airsoft pulse rifles as reference. It really has become a pet peeve of mine. Not the case here.

Nit Picks (i know, obsessive and pretty minor details but at this larger size it would have been nice to nail perfect...)
-Hicks did have chin-straps on his helmet. They were just tucked up and under the helmet band. Completely missing here.
-Hicks had the short "boot knife" on his webbing. That knife is way too long.
-Slings on rifle and motion tracker had a vertical stripe pattern the length of the material, not horizontal as seen here.
-No "non-toxic" painted on the ab pad.
-Not sure why the key is actually present in his heart lock. No key needed

I do kind of wish they would have gone for a more dynamic pose. Or alternate arms that could hold the rifle across the body or something. It looks a LOT like the 3D printed statue that was making the rounds on facebook (sorry can't remember designer/seller name. I know on Etsy it is listed by the seller "hadleyslasthope" as a 1/6scale statue.) The artist I am thinking of also did an awesome Vasquez 3D printed statue.

The 3D printed statue has a more natural stance and rifle arm position, though. The HCG statue looks like he is in the middle of shifting his weight, not standing naturally or being semi-relaxed.

Overall I think I'm gonna buy it. Plenty of good going on here to justify the purchase. Also, if we don't buy the new Aliens things (especially the marines), they won't make more new aliens things!
