I think it's pretty safe to say that the price is not final as it's not up for sale yet, I shared your feedback and the others to him, we'll see what he does with it..

For the sculpt he actually resculpted the mouth completely, and he did other touch-ups on the nose and the ears.

Ambrosial sold his last sculpt from the "laughing" penthouse scene more than 500$ while the actual price was closer to 300/350$ either because it was the last one or because he sold it to someone overseas, I'm not sure.
That's what I call a money grab or at the very least a bad mentality.

John is not like that, I've been talking to him for almost a year now and I believe that he's not doing this to make money and profit only.

I know you don't mean anything bad with your post but it still makes me a little sad to read that so I had to reply.

In regards to variations we are seeing with the sleepy joker, I’m indifferent towards it. I don’t buy sculpts because of how limited they are & to feel special.

I want the best. I want one that gets me excited to have on display.

Personally prefer unreal toys system buy it whenever you want and no fear of missing out because it’s “sold out”.

John Wu’s variation of his own sleepy joker im not thrilled about it being teased right now. I would prefer this being teased once everyone’s heads have been finished & taken care. While I understand it’s not up for order I just believe in finishing up the first project before kickstarting/teasing another project.

Regardless I can’t wait to get my sleepy joker whenever that gets started (hopefully super duper soon lol) & my laughing one next yr around summer.

I’m going to politely disagree. The sculpts & paint/rooting go hand in hand as part of the whole project in my opinion. If it was truly separate then mine would be scheduled & booked for particular month + yr like the any other basic commission. For example my laughing sculpt is scheduled/booked for June 2025.

My sleepy joker & everyone else’s are just whoever preordered 1st I guess maybe + plus juggling the commissions that were already booked before this project started. I have no date & no idea when he’s getting to mine. He could message me tomorrow and say good news starting yours now or may I not hear from him for another 2-3 months. I have no clue.

I’m not mad at him I just don’t agree with this one thing, which is teasing a very similar sculpt project before everyone/or at least most people got theirs is all.
(Hot toys Chrome Mando anyone lol just kidding)

I can only speak to how I felt seeing it that day is all. I like John a lot, work looks great & prices are great. Very polite and nice to communicate with.

Also iI'll take the opportunity to let y'all know that John won't paint GNTE's headsculpt (sleepy with teeth) because of his behavior towards him.

So you're only option to have it painted/rooted by a top artist would be Yuan since Heise is not taking commission at the moment.

That looks really good and that news of John not painting the sleepy with teeth sculpt is kind of putting me off ordering it now as I was going to ask him to paint it for me.

Of the V1 & V2? Probably the closed mouth,
but I don’t really see any of these three as an interrogation look.

I could see the teeth sculpt lending itself most to a disheveled look, but I’ll likely go with a cleaner application myself.

The teeth version could be a good loose Hit Me look, without the weird expression he had in the moment.

Just sent payment for the teeth sculpt.

May give the Nancy 4.0 a repaint and put it on the Bank Robber suit, leaving these two sculpts for the purple coat and interrogation suits.
