Just finished the finale. What a great show. I also loved the song at the end.

They just announced on the Hell on Wheels facebook page that it has been renewed for a third season.
After the season 2 finale it has become one of my all time favorite shows.

As I said before, they'll have a pretty clean slate to work with, so it'll be interesting to see where they take things.

Even though I hope you're wrong (no offense), I have a sinking feeling you could be right. He was an excellent foil for Bohannon, and it's a tempting cliche that I'm afraid they won't be able to resist. In my opinion, the only thing worse than bringing the Swede back would be if Lily were somehow still alive.
The Swede is the devil. You can't kill him. You didn't actually see him die so......who knows?
It would be really weird if Lily weren't dead. That would really be a stretch.

Of course Dish Network gets AMC back way after the second seasons been over. 
If there is one thing I have learned from numerous shows it is that people who fall down from places like bridges and cliffs they almost always survive. Falling from a cliff into lava is the only exception.

I just don't know what else they could do with the Swede, there's no reason for him to return even if he is alive. He burned down Hell on Wheels, got Durant thrown in prison, and killed everyone Bohannon cared about. His revenge was complete. The only motivation left would be for him to kill Bohannon, and the Swede is the type that would rather have Bohannon live with that, knowing that he got the better of him, and that he'll never be able to get justice for it. I guess the third season could be Bohannon finding out he's still alive and humting him down, but god, I hope not. Jumping off that bridge was just such a perfect way to end that character, I hope they don't ruin it.
As much as I love the Swede's character, I agree.

if the swede does come back i think he'll come in near the end of the season. more as a season cliffhanger maybe.

So basically, everyone behind the scenes has left the show. Yeah, that doesn't bode well even if it does get renewed.
Going by TWS it's probably for the best.

I don't think you can judge it by TWD though, they have the actual creator of that world in Kirkman working on the show.
