Re: New Hellboy PF

I am betting that it goes up in October for spooktacular.

That would be logical time to do it. I'm picking up one that is for sure. I primarily collect marvel and DC but I will pick. Up one offs that I can't resist: this, red Sonja and Conan.

this year sdcc is like a second chance for me to get all the things that i can't get from SS

Hellboy PF, Spidey Com, Red Sonja PF.

Can't wait !!!!

I'd even add Cap and Red Skull PFs as those were a nice surprise and and pieces that were released a while back. :yess:

Doesn't replace the originals in any way but a nice addition to any collector who missed out.

:exactly: I'm thrilled to be able to get a nice Spidey, though the Koto one is great and Captain looks great, so does Red Skull.

The first library edition came in today. Can't wait to start going through it. It's huge :D

12 inches tall, 9.5 inches wide, one inch deep. It has a classy looking cover with a small art print in the middle. The binding though feels flimsy and I'm kind of nervous of pages coming out. You can see the glue where the pages are fastened if you look at the book from the top.

Ah I see now. The artist that does this did Gotham by Gaslight. I don't know why I did not piece that together earlier. It would explain why it was brought up earlier too :lol

If Sideshow can work together with him again they should definitely do that Batman.

I hope it blends with Marvel Omnibus but it's a shame it's not sewn binding.

The comic itself is really good though! I've been enjoying the art and story a lot so far.

The Library Editions are quite a bit bigger than the Omnibus', and it is sewn/library binding. Really nice extras too, the only possible draw back with them is the felt covers can get kind of dusty.

I never expected SS to make a Comic Hellboy but I'm so glad they did. I'm surprised how many people on Facebook didn't understand his little legs. This is my favourite Hellboy PF by far.

I think that is a good indicator that when those facebook people think Hellboy they think of the movie representation and there is nothing small about Ron Pearlman.

Having said that I too think this comic representation of Hellboy is the best there is was and ever will be :clap

I like both the movie and comic representations of the character. I enjoy the designs of both to be honest, and I don't denounce the movie at all because it has brought more fans to the franchise and turned out to be two of the most well made comic movies ever made. I wish they'd do a third one.

Oh totally agree. There is nothing wrong with the movies, heck I really like them, but IMO the comic version of Hellboy rules all.

Having said that I'm always happy when some form of entertainment brings more fans to an IP or character. The one knock I generally find is that fans of comic book Hellboy tend to know the different representations of the character and have a personal favorite version while folks who learned about Hellboy through the movies only really know that version and think all other representation of Hellboy are wrong. This isn't always the case but something I've generally seen happen.
