Re: Toy Anxiety, incoming!!

Your custom looks good, but the head is a bit doll-like. Have you seen the recent Easy & Simple Qui-Gon headsculpt at all?

The head is from the old Hasbro 12 inch Quigon (I have it too.:clap). Can you link us to the Easy & Simple Quigon? I have never heard of it.

They also make an episode 3 Obi Wan one that I've seen. Kinda the same story. You can tell who it is but the realism is lacking just a bit.

Re: Toy Anxiety, incoming!!

Nice. Thanks for the link. It isn't quite the headsculpt I had hoped for but it would make good custom fodder for sure.

The Easy & Simple heads are slightly off in a way, but like you say, they are good fodder and relatively cheap.

I won't link to more as this is TA's thread, but there are a few heads on their figures that work for movie characters.

Like Pix said, it is from the Portrait Edition Qui-Gon and Padme 2 pack that was exclusive to FAO Swartz. I know it has doll hair but I love the figure; he was taller than the standard Hasbro figures because Neeson was really tall plus he looked better than the standard Qui-Gon figures you could find in TRU.
I was sitting there one day and looking at my Hasbro Vader fodder and I looked at the Qui-Gon figure and had a "what if I put chocolate in peanut butter" moment. I love the head sculpt. I know it looks like a toy but that doesn't bother me. I love the Mego Christopher Reeve sculpt from 1979 even though the Hot Toys one kills it. It's the kid in me that is reminded of the days when these were just toys. I honestly do not know if I would buy a more recent sculpt for the fact that this is me just having fun. It is unique. Plus if Hot Toys makes one I'll just jump on that. Thanks for the comments, gentlemen.

I didn't mean to offend. Just meant as an observation.
It's a cool idea.

I am sorry if I gave you that impression my good sir. No offense taken. I loved your Christian Bale custom and really appreciate your input on my little kit-bash. If I were going the route of a figure I could have side by side with my Hot Toys Ben then I would definitely use the head that was suggested. This was just something quick and easy, like fast food. I hope you don't take this personal. Again thank you for your input.

No worries.
It's easy to read a message wrong and i thought maybe you thought i was having a go.
I bought a set of Kylo Ren gear from TA a bit back, and saw that recent stylised Hasbro Vader in a local TRU, and decided to try for a Samurai-style Vader bash. I will eventually give him a cape and a better Saber. I was just thinking of a more active Vader, without the life support gear. Like just Anakin in the suit wearing the mask to protect his real identity, but no lava damage. It's a WIP. I reckon he could do with a Maul-Style belt.
