good luck to you Carl. Hoping Rocky gets through this and any recovery time with little to no problems.:peace

Update! (And probably the last one before his surgery)...

Rocky is set for surgery a week from Monday, on March 11. :rock

As of now, I will still be about $300 short of all of his fees (including lab costs, meds, post-op visits, etc) because I have literally cut as many corners as I can (including cancelling a lot of SSC pre-orders that would be shipping soon) to save up, and the most I can squeeze by then (including what I've already saved) is an additional $3,400 in cash.

So, I'm leaving the Fundraiser open for now, in case anyone would still like to chip in: https://fundrazr.com/campaigns/2PJha

If we make up the rest by then, SWEET! (And any extra would be donated to Atlanta Boxer Rescue). If not, well then I'll work something out with the vets and clinics and labs. As it stands, I'll have $8,100 out of the $8,400 total. Which is just mind-boggling and humbling.

THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH! :)

Hey everyone.

I just wanted to update you all on Rocky...

Well... we did it!! :) On Monday he had the complete surgery, and it was successful... no issues or complications. The doctors expect he will make a full recovery and that this will indeed solve all of the issues with his remaining shoulder. And he also avoided any infections for the first 48-72 hours, which was the other critical thing. We brought him home today. The poor guy is knocked out on pain meds, shaven and all stitched up and stapled on one side. We have to keep him off his feet as much as possible for another few days, but then rehab and recovery begins. And knowing this dude, it's not gonna take him too long. Besides, he's part Terminator now anyway. ;)

Anyway, THANKS SO MUCH for everyone's support and help, even though who just shared kind words and positive thoughts. We're grateful to each and every one of you.

I'll share more updates soon, including some pics, on Rocky's progress.

Thanks again!

Carl

:hi5:So happy to hear! :yess:

Rocky is doing great, thanks for asking! :)

Here are a couple of iPhone pics I just took:

It's not been quite 4 months since the surgery, but his hair has all grown back and the scar on his shoulder isn't that visible anymore. They did a great job:

His shoulder/leg is stronger than ever, and he's been back at full speed for a couple months. But he still has his lazy moments :lol

I'm back to taking him with me while I run errands (that don't require me leaving him in the hot car, of course). Sometimes, he sits up straight like a co-pilot, but he usually looks like this:

And some times he's completely uncouth:

That $20 beanbag from Walmart is one of the best purchases I've ever made, btw. It's like his throne :lol
