Hemble's Customs- Update 03/06/08

Hi All

My first custom post and hopefully not my last, First up is a 1/6 Indy I have just completed. Comments are more then welcome.

I had extra parts left over to make another Indy figure and decided to make a figure on a small diorama but nothing to over the top just something to compliment the figure itself. I had looked around the net and seen a lot of statues and figures in poses with Indy flicking his whip or hold a golden idol.

So I thought that I would make him as if he was down in a Egyptian Tomb holding a flaming torch. The figure and base were both made seperately and then painted using Vallejo and Games Workshop paints. The clothing has been given a worn look by boiling them in boilng hot soapy water then once dry they were sanded using very fine coarse sand paper.

RECIPE

1: Head & Fedora - Are both both from The frontline custom heads this is the new head and fedora.
2: Body & Hands - Are from Sideshow Toys, I wanted I taller and slim lined body and SideShow's was a perfect choice.
3: Jacket, Shirt, Pants Belt & Bag - Are from the Relic Hunter figure.
4: Boots, Pants & Holster Belt - Are from Dragon
5: Whip, Holster - These are all hand made using left over pieces of leather.
6: Torch - The torch is from Hasbro's 12" Disney's Indiana Jones/GI Joe figure, I cut of the plastic bindings and added thin leather to give it a more realistic look.
7: Base - The base is the 7" Disney's Indiana Jones with fine sand added and the snake is from a bag of snakes I got from a $2 shop.

Welcome Ron ! :)

That's a great way to begin here on the board, what a superb job you've made . It is nice to see something different , I like what you've done with the base, very simple but effective. Well done Mate !

Nice job Mate :whip

Great job on the weathering for the Relic Hunter jacket and the other gear.
Did you paint the head yourself ?

Nice work on the base as well, it's amazing what you can find at $2 shops these days :)

Keep up the nice work :gun

Hi All

I hope this is ok to post smaller figures/customs here. Some of the these works I did a while back and some a new hope you enjoy.

ON THE RUN
While on a routine patrol Yeff Gouler becomes under fire by a Tie fighter, being taken by surprise he's X-wing sustians critical damage and he is forced to crash land. Once landed he doesn't even have time to take he's flight gear off as he notices a squad of Stormtroopers coming his way.

He starts running for his life as he knows that if caught they will torture him for information on the location of the rebel base and now he is a man ON THE RUN.

RECIPE

Stormtroopers - are from TAC Sandtroopers x 2 and the backpacks are from the NEW Evo Troopers.

X-Wing Pilot - is a old Saga Pilot cut and re-positioned, the head is from a 1/18th scale figure.

Base - The base is an old picture frame, the rocky outcrop is foam cut it the desired look and then covered in a two part mix of plaster and sand. The shrubs and grass are from woodland scenics and the water is also from woodland scenics and the water plants are aquarium plastic plants.

A patrol of Sandtroopers receive a call that a Gun Smuggler is heading out of Mos Eisley with a shipment of small arms, when the Troopers try and stop him he attempts to run them down. The Smuggler hits one of the Troopers but not before the Trooper gets 3 shots off thru his windshield with his heavy blaster.

After all the drama the heavy Trooper is down with severe injuries, the section SGT goes to his aid and calls for a MEDIC.

RECIPE

Sandtroopers - are from TAC Sandtrooper from Hasbro, the injured trooper's head is a SAGA Bespin Luke with a added goatee.

Smuggler - is a VOTC Han Solo figure with the head from the white Endor trooper and the jacket is from the old ceremonial Luke.

Speeder - is the Saga speeder which has been repainted, the dashboard graphics are from some old AMT Star Trek transfers.

Base - The base is an old picture frame, and has been built up using sand, plaster of paris. The footprints were done using other Trooper feet and the wind blown effect which caused by the speeder is done using a medium paint brush.

All figures and Speeder are painted using Vallejo and GW paints and the base has been painted using Vallejo paints.

This diorama depicts a small Patrol coming across a destroyed droid next to a moisture vaparator, To the Troopers it looks that the droid has come across some Tusken Raiders trying to steal water.
The Troopers have decided that the Tusken's have destroyed the droid so it couldn't identify them but in their haste to get away they have left a gaderffi stick and water hose behind.
The head Trooper tells one of his men to go and find the owners while he stays and keeps watch with a AT-ST as back up just in case Tuskens come back.

When I got the AT-ST from Hasbro I knew I had to make a dio with it in it, but I didn't want to do a Endor one as everyone seems to make them using smaller model kits. So with that in mind and as I'm on a Sandtrooper/Tatooine kick at the moment it was obvious that a Tatooine diorama was to be made.

With the AT-ST I really wanted to make this look really military, So I made the laser cannons a little bigger then they should be and gave the crewman a amoured vest and even put a laser rifle on top of the turret. you can see my step by step tutorial comimg soon here
https://www.mousedroid.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3054

RECIPE

Sandtroopers - are from TAC Imperial troopers x 2 and the equipemnt are Saga Sandtrooper gear all from Hasbro

AT-ST - The POTF2 version and has been modified.

The Base - The base is from an old Telephone table and it has been built up using marine foam, sand, plaster of paris.

Protocol Droid - Is the Saga EP-VI C3PO.

Moisture Vaparator - Is from the TAC Luke Skywalker set.

fantastic work there, it shows real visual imagination.......great stuff :banana....its amazing how a scene can transform a figure.

Awesome work... I love the dios that you've created with the Hasbro stuff... Very creative and inspiring.

LOVE your stuff man! I've seen you're other Indy's before and the detail to not only the figures but the surrounding pieces is always outstanding!!

WOW! :eek

Your stuff is amazing!
I LOVE this one, with the ATST, and I have an ATST I have reworked also, but never got it to stand that high. I still have mine with the walking capacity, so it doesn't look as cool as this one. If I may ask, what did you do to it to make it stand so tall?

GREAT WORKS! Love the Indy too! All of them rock! Welcome aboard! :rock

Great work, love the Look Sir Droids and AT-ST Dios... too bad Sideshow's don't look that great.

Hemble nice work. I posted your custom Indy in the Indy section. I didn't realize you posted here too. :rock :whip :gun

Hi All

tigerfeet - Thanks for the feedaback it's really appreciated.

DarthNeil - Cheers mate and glad you liked the Hasbro stuff.

saintsyn - Glad you liked the other Indy figures as well cheers, I like to put figures on bases as I think it adds more realism to them them just having them standing on a shelf by themselves.

Les Walker - Thanks for the kind words, coming from you that means alot. With the AT-ST I pulled out the pins inside where the legs go and super glued them inplace and then usedsmall screw to secure them better.
Then I played around with the knee sections until I got the hieght I wanted and superglued those as well. I would love to see waht you have done with your AT-ST.

galactiboy - Appreciate the reply mate thank you.

AR-Ballistic - Thakns heaps.

Mooncat - Cheers mate, the scale is 3-3/4" or 1-1/8th.

The Josh - Always good to hear from you J and cheers buddy and I just started posting yesterday never knew the forum was here.
