Ron, you are a mad man. You produce some of the coolest figures/ dioramas. Top notch my friend!

Damn Hemble... again you blow my mind!! :google

Seriously man, all of those figures and dios rock. The Indy figures always astound me, what you are able to do with parts I would probably not think to use. And the pilot looks fantastic, you can't tell you used ANY Hasbro bits. He's a masterpiece. And the sniper... just jaw dropping. The Coronado?? Wow... insane good work.

Your figures are amazing because they really have life, they feel like a frame from a film or a second in time.. and for that they are more art than I've seen in most figure work. You should be very very proud. :rock

Hey Ron,
Wow! The detail you are able to put in your work is beyond inspirational!
I LOVE it! I really like the ideas you came up with for your dioramas too.
It's much more fun to have scenes than static figures on a shelf.
Coooooooooool Mandalorian!!!
Keep up the great work! :chew:chew:chew

Re: Hemble's Customs -ROTLA Diorama 03/01/09

HI All

When the Sideshow Toys Indy first hit the stores I picked myself up a few of them and decided to do a few diorama's with them as there such a great looking figure. But as we customizers know things need that little extra detailing or that little extra something to make it unique.

Thats why I opted to do Indy in robes from ROTLA and have the scene were Sallah throws Indy down the make shift rope using sheets and a swastika so he can climb out of the map room.

RECIPE

1: Body - The whole figure from head to toe is the SideShow Toys Indy body, The body is so loose the only thing that I could do to it is superglue all the joints and use it for a diorama. The head is the best sculpt I've seen of Harrison in this scale.

2: Shirt, Pants & Bag - Are from Sideshow Toys, they have been given a slight wash to tone down the colours.

3: Robes - The robes are left over material I had from another Map room Indy I did a while back, so instead of sewing this outfit I used material glue as it wasn't going to be moved around like the last one.

4: Flag & Sheets - Are made from the some material as the robes, the white sheets were cut to size and glued to the coat hanger that holds them up about 6 inchs above Indy's head giving the impression they are dangling so he can climb out.
They were given a spray of matt white once they were in place. The Swastika emblem was hand drawn and then painted over with vallejo paints.

5: Base - The base I got from a craft shop for $3, the fallen stones are foam pieces which have been cut and pulled apart to get the desired look. They were then covered in plaster of paris mixed with woodglue (PVA) and fine sand as was the base.
The base was left to dry for a few hours and then the stones were painted and them more fine sand was added to the base to give it more depth.

Ok, Ok, you win the Indy contest. I can't believe the level of stuff you put out and can't imangine what your house looks like-great work.

Hemble - all of you stuff looks great, but that first picture of Map Room Indy took me right back to the same "Oh, crap!" feeling I had when I first saw that scene in Raiders when I was a kid.

You NAILED it!

Re: Hemble's Customs-Damn Fools 10/01/09

Hi All

This is a nice simple custom that I've wanted to do for a long time, I wanted to have the feel of Indy in the Dark Blue suit from ROTLA but also add my own touches to it. I decided to give him a Dark Blue pinned striped suit but making sure not to make the stripes to dominate.

The suit was given a wash over using watered down material glue and once dry was given 3 light coats of Dark Blue, and again once dry it was given a drybrush of a mix of Dark Blue and Off White to give it a little definition. The handkerchief in the breast was added as I liked the look of it and gave the whole figure that 30's feel.

The enevelope was added to the figure as I felt it needed something else in the dio, it was taken from the net and printed off and glued in place.

RECIPE
1: Body & Hands - The whole figure from head to toe is the SideShow Toys Indy body, except the hands which are from an old Star Trek AMT Scotty figure.

2: Head, Fedora and shoes - Are from Sideshows toys and the whiskers were sanded off to give Indy a shaven look and the head and Fedora were repainted as were the shoes.

3: Shirt & Suit - The shirt is from the Relic hunter and the suit is and old Playmates Start Trek suit, The suit has been modified to fit the SS body.

4: Base - The base is a small picture frame which I got from a craft shop for $2. The tiled floor I scanned from a 1/35 scale tiled floor I have and resized and altered to fit the base.

Hemble, this is amazing. I love the double breasted jacket. The repaint is awesome, too. I only have one nitpick. The dress hat in the clipper scene and end scene is a charcoal grey. It's kind of hard to tell, and there's been a lot of dispute about it. It definitely is, though.

Here's a picture of Ben's repaint:
