I was talking to a co-worker today and she said one thing she was confused about is that if Peter was the one who blew up, and everyone else thought that Sylar died. Why did Peter seem to not realize Sylar was alive? I mean surely he'd still see Sylar as a danger so why pretend he was dead for five years. Did we miss something in the episode?

I took it that after the explosion Peter really didn't care if Syler was alive or dead, didn't care about the whole situation much at all. Apparently no one had made contact with Syler after the explosion since it was a surprise for Peter to see him.

That's kinda what I got out of it.

So did we all see Future Hiro give Ando what I can only assume is the page from the comic that Ando dies on? ... I wonder exactly how much of the future Issac saw though if he has rough drafts five years into the future...

The pen & ink drawings that were in the episode were the last issue of the comic that Issac gave to the courier right before Sylar killed him. It was the issue that goes right up to the explosion, showing how to stop it... or at least that's what Hiro thinks...

Ok, now for the time paradox issues...

... if Hiro had already gone back in time and met Peter on the subway, who then saved Claire's life, preventing Sylar from getting healing powers so he could be killed by Hiro... why??? when it was Peter who blew up and not Sylar at all, so how did Hiro even try to kill Sylar?? Are both Sylar and Peter in NY at the same time and place when Peter blows? And if saving Claire would change the future for Hiro... why didn't it???

Brain hurts. :(

I guess time travel shows that nothing is set in stone. Maybe Hiro seeing the future changes things again when he goes back in time. There are a lot of unanswered questions.

Lonnie brings up a good point - Peter saved Claire, but then he still blew up. But we now know that saving the world doesn't mean stopping the explosion. So up until innocent Hiro goes to the future the 5 years later timeline happens and NY is blown up. But now that innocent Hiro will go back and kill Sylar the 5 years later won't happen. So the main paradox is why future Hiro would go back to Peter at the point he does and tell him to save Claire when the explosion has already happened. Does he know that Sylar is the President?

Brain hurts indeed.

This is off topic, but the talk about time travel reminds me of this scam I saw in a newspaper once where a person wanted people to donate thousands dollars or something because he figured out a way to time travel but needed the money to make it happen. He would take half the donation and use it towards the project, the other half would be invested in a bank account to collect interest for a hundred years and you could go get out in the present and make more than you donated. :lol

On the other hand, did it ever occur to anyone that if one day in the future time travel is possible that we could be living among people who are from the future?

As for the Sylar and Hiro question I say either A. It's a plot hole and we fans put way too much thought into the show and it annoys the writers or B. Somehow killing Sylar also prevents the explosion.

On the other hand, how come Hiro didn't go back to when Claire was going to be killed and save her and kill Sylar at the same time?

I just watched the full episode from Monday and I thought it kicked @$$. Am I the only one who misses Christopher Eccleston? Is there any word if he is coming back?

Ok, here's another theory...

Future Hiro tries to kill Sylar (he has killed Claire and has her power) the first time to prevent him from exploding and fails. He figures out he needs to save Claire to prevent Sylar from getting her power and goes back in time and meets Peter.

Peter saves Claire, which does change the future! But not in the way Future Hiro expected. Peter gains Claire's power by saving her and goes on to gain other Hero powers and eventually becomes the "exploding man" instead of possibly dying at some point. For some reason (we haven't seen) Peter will take the place of Sylar blowing up New York.

Past Hiro and Ando travel into the future 5 years and meet Future Hiro where they learn the "bomb" still went off, but it was Sylar, not Peter. They go back to our present and it is now their task to stop the explosion, but does that still mean killing Sylar, or now that Future Hiro has changed the future, does it mean killing Peter???

Brain really hurt now!

Ah yes, why not just go back and kill Sylar's parents. Here's a theory, why doesn't he go back in time, stop the dinosaurs from being extinct, and just live with some raptors? I think that one.

Because changing the future is very dangerous, and the least amount of change the better!

That's my last theory for tonight... we're under a Tornado watch and are having a heavy Thunderstorm right now with 70 MPH winds and lightening, so I have to get off and shut down the electronics!!! Later.

Aug 21st.:lol

I finally watched the episode.

Maybe saving the future has nothing to do with the bomb, but stopping Sylar from using the Bomb to take control of the world? Remeber Sylar knows that Nathan becomes president maybe his artist future at the end of the previous episode was him becoming the president.

Ok yeah the whole changing the future could have changed the bomb from Sylar to Peter or maybe Hirro thought it was Sylar since thats what Nathan/Sylar told the world.
