you most probably are. :dunno

just sayin.

I am not thin, or have a nice shape. I won't deny that.
But I am not obese either. I could get in shape and I should probably do some weights....
But I kind of hate working out

I had some VERY high blood pressure (like in the 180/130 range) and had two incidents of vertigo as a result. My eyes were moving back & forth very fast and I couldn't stop throwing up. The first time I had no idea and waited all night before going to the Dr in the morning when it didn't go away.... The 2nd time called 911 right away. Now that I have been on my meds no more vertigo and I feel much better and am in a better 130/90 range so far. GET IT CHECKED OUT.

hey blackmask, how high is your BP? what is it usually? and are you sure its your BP?

i could think a lot of things that could make you feel light headed and dizzy.

it was something like 147/90 or something like that. well I went to the doctor some weeks ago and described what I had, she said it was the BP. ( I get dizzy and i have this "brain-fog" feeling. kind of feels like when you are getting drunk... kind of. kind of feels like I am in a dream state sometimes)

she ordered some blood tests so I have to go back and see what she says, but from what I told her she said it was BP.

yeah sounds similar to what i felt before, so meds are what's good for it? because I heard the medications can affect other things in your body.

High Blood Pressure could lead to Diabetes

nope. its the other way around, actually.

not many people die from diabetes per se. its mostly the complications from diabetes that gets the kills i.e. kidney failures, heart and vessel diseases, etc.

I'm 45. Mine is controlled with medicine which made it go down but it was still high. Last 6 months or so I've started watching my diet and exercising. Combined with the medicine it is actually normal, first time in my life it has been. Don't know what shape you are in but at your age I would try diet and exercise first but still consult your doctor.

You know that high blood pressure medication causes aneurysms, don't you? High blood pressure medication works by relaxing the blood vessels, and thereby expands them, does it not?
If you take a medication to relax the arteries, it will cause them to stretch. When they stretch, they become thinner, and when they become thinner, they become weaker.

I know that high blood pressure medication weakens the arteries and causes aneurysms. My father died of an aneurysm. You need to find a way off of the medication, or it will slowly weaken your arteries more and more, until you have an aneurysm, and if it bursts, you will likely die.

Dr. Dean Ornish has a dietary program that has been scientifically proven to reverse high blood pressure, and cardiovascular disease.

High sodium in the diet causes high blood pressure, as well as narrowing of the arteries. Stress causes high blood pressure, too.

I didn't know any of this, But someone did told me that BP medicine was not good sometimes, I don't know if this is what they were referring to...

What is Dr Dean Ornish program?

Time to see your doctor.
I'm surprised no one has mentioned that yet (or maybe I didn't read all the responses). :D

You don't need to work out to exercise your body. Go for a brisk walk daily. Swim. Skate. Cycle. It's all good.

And go see a freakin' doctor instead of putting your concerns to a crowd of people who spend swathes of their free time arguing about the colour of a doll's socks.

Good luck!

I never said death. I had almost high blood pressure before. My doctor said I am close to getting diabetes if I don't exercise and lose some weight, especially abdominal fat for me.

I also had low vitamin D, something I take now a days, especially in the winter. I also take multi-vitamin once in a while as well.

Yes, people drop like flies from blood pressure medicine. It kills more people than it saves. :lol

Infomercial snake oil.

There may be dangers involved with blood pressure meds, and sodium is bad in excess, but talk to a doctor. Ignore youtube.

Blood pressure lowering medication DOES cause aneurysms. If you do enough research you will know that to be true. If you take enough of it long enough, it can cause aneurysms. My father took it for 25 years, in rather high doses. He did his own research and confirmed with doctors much later than it is known that it causes aneurysms.
The stuff caused the aneurysm that burst and killed my father. Don't tell me you know something about something you know nothing about. You are totally ignorant.

People dropping like flies hmm.. They do die from it.
Blood pressure medication is big business, and if people used diet, they wouldn't need to take it. Sure, it works well in the short term, but long term, it does serious damage to the arteries.

That wasn't an informercial on Youtube. It was a lecture. There was no product being sold.
Dr. Dean Ornish is an M.D. who wrote the book, Dr. Dean Ornish's Program For Reversing Heart Disease: The only program scientifically proven to reverse heart disease without drugs or surgery, over 20 years ago. I read it when it came out. Dr. Ornish is not an infomercial salesman. You clearly know nothing about the man.

Here, learn something...

"Dean Ornish, MD

Dean Ornish, M.D., is the founder and president of the non-profit Preventive Medicine Research Institute and Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Ornish received his M.D. from the Baylor College of Medicine, was a clinical fellow in medicine at Harvard Medical School, and completed an internship and residency in internal medicine at the Massachusetts General Hospital. He earned a B.A. in Humanities summa cum laude from the University of Texas in Austin, where he gave the baccalaureate address. "

So everyone who takes blood pressure meds will get aneurysms?

Most people who take them will get aneurysms?

A large number will get them?

Or, what?

Did you ever study sets in junior high math?

And did you ever wonder why Dr. Ornish's non-product is not sold by cardiologists? Is it because they can make more money off dead people?

Ignorant. :lol

In this day and age, everyone's got some level of HBP. Last time I was at the doctor, it was only a couple digits above normal. Like 126/87 or something. Coffee of course can raise it which is one reason why I try not to drink it much.

last time I was at the doc and had a high blood pressure reading was at my vasectomy.
I kid you not, the nurse said, "Your BP is a little high. Are you nervous?" :slap
