I don't know much about this company, but that's a cool looking replica. That thing scared the crap out of me when I was a kid.

I'm thinking Sideshow will carry this... I think I'll wait and see if they do.

Alex Fisher of the Hollywood Collectibles Group is a great person to deal with. :D You should have no issues ordering from them if you want to. I ordered the Faux Bronze Rocky and Rambo from them and had no issues with them. Everything went great. What? Is there a Sideshow Exclusive or something?:lol Tell me what you know. :lol :rotfl

I saw a smaller version in London last week it was only about 10" wide. I thought long and hard, but £50 seemed steep for what I was looking at.

This on the other hand is a lot more moolah, but it also looks a whole lot more impressive.

Sorry, I was talking about based on the book design, should have said that, no interest in anything based on the SS disaster.

Sometimes. But not everything classic is good sir. :)

I would love a SS tripod however....those were ____ing awesome...even if the movie was not. :lol

:lol I know, I know, but I'm asking, do they have the rights to do things based on the book art, or is that a seperate license/entity? Do they have plans for anything related to that if it's differant? Sorry I don't get licenses, they confuse me.

I always loved the Squid Walkers though and would love a collectible based on one.

And I know the art varies for differant prints..

They arent that confusing. :D

If a said company grabs a license to make Props for a film, they can only make props for a film.

If a said company grabs a license to do 12 inch figures for a film, they can only make that.

If they grab a license for a film that's based off something (book, game, comic) they can ONLY get the licence for the film, and nothing else.

If a company gets the Master License, they have total control over the property. They can make whatever they want. This is like what Hasbro has for Star Wars and Marvel. They can make any figure from any medium from Marvel and Star Wars. They can make figures from the films, comics, games, anything. And they can make anything they want to.

Since this seems to be a film company, they only have the license to make props, and crap based only of the 50's version of War of the Worlds. Not anything else related to it. Not the SS film, not the book art, not the TV SHOW...nothin.
