True,

But imagine if your Doom PF EX has open ES

You wouldn't be able to make fun of VS and other people for not having the EX, would you? :nana:

I bet you feel good your Doom PF EX is selling for more than $2K in after market, don't you? Or maybe you would feel better if you see doom pf ex is selling for $250 on eBay?

Also imagine if Skaar PF EX has open ES

Shai wouldn't be able to make fun of Dhaval and other people for not having the EX, would he? :nana:

The LIMITED CLOSED ES is what make this collectible alive and FUN.

If everything is always available at sideshow for a retail price, how would that be FUN and COLLECTIBLE? It would be nothing than ORDINARY and UNCOLLECTIBLE.

HOLY WORDS,
the word itself "collectible" means something rare to which you have access "once" and then...... gone.
Also MASS MARKET toys became collectibles,
but ONLY after MANY MANY years from the release and once they are not produced anymore.

SSC it´s milking too much the cow,
how long they think the collectors will permit them to do WHATEVER THEY want whenever they want?

As long as they keep buying? :dunno

I realize this was more of a rhetorical question but hey if I were at the head of Sideshow, why would I stop making huge profits when people keep buying?

Anyway, I was planning on buying this Galactus Maquette but if he does turn out to be open ES, then I'll pass.
I know someone will buy it and hence take my place but I don't care. Maybe other collectors like me will start boycotting it

Sideshow is the only serious game in town and they have the most/best licenses. They can do whatever they want and push the envelope as much as they feel they can. They can bring you back from the breaking point by releasing something cool to make up for it and make you forget how mad you were.

Ultimately, they know that a lot of these items/characters resonate with our inner child. A lot of people here are not going anywhere because there is nowhere else to go.

Milking will stop when Sideshow will have some true competitors. Let's just hope this day happens fast

:goodpost: That's the only way they've been able to get away with so many QC screw-ups, for sure. Would be nice if there was some competition out there to help increase quality while bringing down costs.

Yep the problem is there is no competition so Sideshow can do whatever they want, they know that their customers have no other alternative. I guarantee you that once another company come into the picture Sideshow will straighten out their act. If I had the money I would do it myself but I don't.

What other company can afford the licenses let alone the talent. It sure isn't bowen, koto or gentle giant

Do you own a dictionary? if so you should seriously consider looking up the word...

the ' collect for life ' slogan by ss is great. with a limitless edition like galactus, we can take our time to get it in 5,10yrs..
tks ss

Not a company but people with deep pockets that want to do things right, if I had plenty of cash I would probably do it. I would actually have the statues made in the US, more expensive but every single piece produced would look exactly like the prototype since I would have artists paint it themselves. These statues are being made in a way that Sideshow doesn't care what we get since we are still getting these horrible amateur paintjobs being done accompanied by lazy eyes and their current unprofessional business practices.

Has it been confirmed that this piece is open edition, because that's what everyone thought was going to happen with Lsb batman and that piece ended up being limited. Pls let me know!

The Batman bust always had TBD next to it though, Galactus was TBD also until last night.

All I know is they better have an edition size  because if I'm paying big bucks for this guy I want to see some appreciation.... And yes I know it's all about the art and u shouldn't buy to expect to make a profit but everybody always feels good when they know the piece they bought is worth more then they paid even if they don't plan on selling!!

I think the same could be achieved in the factories in China if more attention was paid to QC. Sideshow just seems to have a higher acceptable fail ratio for pieces now than it had back in the day. That is really the problem.

Producing these type of items here in the USA would make it cost prohibitive for many collectors.

I would rather have top painters do the work here in the US near flawlessly where you can actually be on top of things if there are any problems. If hundreds of people have no problem paying $400 for a Batman PF I doubt people wouldn't pay an extra $100-200 to have it professionally done with it being top quality. I would pay $600 for a 1/4 figure if it looked as good as a perfect prototype.
