Over spray for the win! Looks great IMO. Keep it SS

Im not one to complain but having all these AMAZING pieces have open editions....well defeats the purpose of the whole hobby. We collect exclusivity! If anyone could go up and buy a doom pf at any time it wouldnt be as desirable as it is...they need to cut this trend now...

Yeah this is looking like one of the best Comic Cons in a while. Hadn't bought too much this year until CC started. :lol

Galactus is my big purchase.....so far. :monkey3

same here! I added 300 clams of credit for this. 500 isn't to bad. I think i'm gonna be broke soon when comic con stuff is released!

I don't wanna sound rude but if you don't like it, then don't order it. Keep your snobby opinions to yourself. SS could have put this in there LSF line at 2k but didn't. a bargain at almost 3 feet tall!
Pretty sure if doom was 800 not many ____ birds would be complaining about the open ES IMHO.

Personally I just collect pieces I like so there's both ends of the spectrum.

I love what they did with the Silver Surfer in this statue.

i guess then open ES will be even limited than closed ES cos only a handful will get it and when the prodcutoon closes on this, it becomes even more rarer,
i again like to state i like to buy things which i feel desreve to be in my collection, if its a closed ES and it gets sold out in a day, then when i see a in hand pic and my mind changes to buy i have to spend ridicolous amount of money to get it,
i would prefer a open ES as i would like more time to make a choice whether i really need it and see in hand pic before making a decision instead of jumping on pre order and the regretting selling it later , granted some may get more money, but i can live without the fuss, but then iv been collecting only a year or so , i could change my opinon 5 or 6 yearss down the line when i might really run out of space or decide to get rid of it.

Well said. I 100% agree.

That's the very same reason why many of the lesser known characters sell out and we get many iterations of the more popular ones. If it's open ES, many of these characters won't be made since people just will wait forever (and never) to buy them. Closed editions is what drives lines, and has made SSC a very successful company able to set high sticker prices and expand lines.

Unfortunately, take away edition size and it just becomes a mass market product available in your nearest Wal-mart which won't be worth as much as the sticker price while the run is still open.

Character options and poses will shrink since they won't make new sculpts because older ones are available for years.

There won't be any excitement when you place your order as it will be availble for years so people can just put it off. Collections won't appreciate and you will start getting depreciation of statues while the direct order is still available.

The hobby will become like everything else, far from the limited collectibles we know and love today. I haven't sold a single item yet or plan to but it changes the successful and popular dynamic of the system. They are trying to fix something and ain't broke.

seriously this is the first time that something I've wanted has had the open ES and it shouldn't make me hesitate but it does. I WANT TO KNOW IF THEY MADE 50 OR 1000 OF THESE BEFORE I ORDER.:lecture

Really why can't they just tell us. idiots

Just order it. Galactus is too awesome to pass on!

i agree that closed ES is what made sideshow this popular , but TBH i think their strategy of TBD ES and open ES on lsf is a good option i feel,
the delayed ES prevents flippers mostly and everyone can get one during the pre order time taking time to come to a decision, for some people like me now i cant have sideshow avengers theme because the cap, thor, pf are way beyond me and if they remke them we will have complaints again. collectors paying the insane amounts nowadays for these sold out item , props to them because they get it cos they really want and can afford it,
but people like me would like a certain period ,mostly upto seeing the inhand pic before making a decision to buy and i think the delayed ES helps this, so i dont think its a bad strategy.
also when fewer people get a leading character which was released earlier and then its sold out means new collectors like me will skip most lesser known character in the same line like how i skip most of the X men or avanegers pf released recently because there is no point getting them if u can complete the line when u dont have cap or thor from avngers or a gambit or wolverine from x men, so that can be also pointed out to another reason y lesser characters dont sell out that much ,so sideshow needs to get the leading characters out there as much as possible if they need to sell out lesser characters and a delayed ES certainly helps that,

I don't think that people are realizing how good of a deal this guy really is. Based on some of sideshow's recent pricing, I was fully expecting this to be upwards of $1,200

i can get this for $710 shipped, this is such a conflict of interest. I love this statue but absolutely hate open edition, cant stand them.

what to do  ,,!,, sideshow

Sideshow is a business. During comic con, they tend to have an open edition to give all con goers a chance to buy these and close it down a week after the con.

that's what the limited edition:TBD means...I understand they do that with ALL their statues when it first goes up for preorder...but what exactly does just Limited Edition mean? Impossible to tell.

But I will still call in tomorrow to cancel because they changed that and can't give a straight answer.
