New toy in da house! Won't set it up until tomorrow though...

Best Buy just delivered my Panasonic 65" VT50! I won't be able to get it up on the wall for a couple days though...

Yes, the 65" panny is for the redecorated living room. As I mentioned earlier, the HT is a 120" screen. I'm a big believer in the biggest screen that works for the size of the room.

Great lighting MikeLofty!

Well, I don't have the masking system. I'd like to, but it's hard to spend 3k on something that's really just a cool feature - I can live with the gray bars.

I am with you. I would rather put the money into the projector.

What are you thoughts on Sony's 4k projector?

My first thoughts were HOLY CRAP. JVC's 'fake' 4K is more on my radar since the price is much more reasonable. Of course, it's also not true 4k.

There will be much debate over whether you can actually see the difference - of course, this is the same argument we've heard since the first progressive scan dvd player came out. Regardless, it will have a huge effect on home 3D, giving us enough resolution to actually make the technology work great, maybe even better than it is in theaters right now.

Breaks in technology are always poo pooed at first because people only think of it in terms of current use. Yea, 4k isn't going to mean a whole lot for a 47" screen. But it opens up doors for things we haven't been able to do before, and some we haven't even thought of yet
