i opened mine today and the hat has a small snag/chunk out of the brim and hanging loose. im bummed, should i contact bbts? are they likely to replace it or will they want the whole figure back?

for $260 a figure you kind of expect perfection, right?

I do have a problem with my trench coat. The small plastic snap that keeps it "buttoned" never snapped, and I broke the male part in the process of forcing it. I'm going to Jo-Ann Fabrics to see if I can find a very small metal snap to replace it.

In the meantime, I took some more shots of with the coat and his elongated gun...kindda simulated that sequence when he blows the Batwing down. ^_^

Great set of pics man! I love the gun pointing shot.

I had a problem with my Batkeaton from BBTS (chipped paint on chest symbol). I contacted them and was given a return shipping label within 48 hours (prob 24). Got the new Bats within two weeks of dropping him off at UPS. But I'd contact them before they run out.

Does anyone else think the DX08 Joker and DX09 Batman are the weakest overall collectibles in the DX line? I dont have DX01, 02, or 03, but have the rest that are released so far.

I love the 1989 Batman, and the Joker and Batman figures alone are awesome when compared to the other DX figures alone. But as a complete collectible package, I just feel Hot Toys went a little cheap for the DX08 and DX09.

With DX04, DX05, and DX06, the packages all came with dioramas, costumes, head sculpts, etc. I look at all that came with these 3, and the packages for DX08 and DX09 just feels incomplete in comparison.

For a DX figure to be truly the pinnacle of the Hot Toys range, I think they could've added at least some sort of diorama, particularly for the Batman. I would've loved the usual cardboard diorama with something out of the Batcave. The Joker is just calling out for an additional headsculpt of some sort!!

I just hope with these two recent DX releases, it doesnt pave the way for smaller DX complete packages. The DX07 certainly looks the goods, but man the DX10 looks terrible in terms of a complete package.

I understand your point about lacking in additional items in the pack of the 08 and 09 but I do have to say that I am a little torn.

I agree that for the money, they do carry a fair amount less than others, but I can also see that these are two totally 'blow you away' figures. Just the look and the attitude, the BATMAN figure particularly is just bang-on (but that's probably my personal bias coming into play over The Bat).

I think it's a bit like the argument about face-sculpts where some are OK, some are good, and occasionally some are excellent...I think that this principle applies here also. Any future DX releases will of course all be under that DX banner, but some will have more, and some will bring less.

Is it OK for such a figure set to get by on their icon status alone? Well, HT seemed to think so. And the people that bought them just continue to pose and photo the hell out of them. They were expensive but, QC issues aside as I was luck enough to no have any, I don't regret buying mine. one bit.
