Nicholson Joker might just be too campy for today's more gritty realistic Nolan audience, whereas Keaton is still badass enough as Batman to validate buying it. Plus that's the Batman that many of us younger collectors grew up with. Adam West also sort of shared that mantle as well, which will be another unmissable buy at some point down the road.

The Keaton sculpt is by far IMO one of the best ever done by Hot Toys. It is definitely not something you won't pass up. I can guarantee that Keaton Bats is definitely one figure that will continue to appreciate in value over time. Keep your figures clean, kids!

I guess because Heath Ledger was so good and different to Nicholson Joker. Heath kind of made the Joker his own, Will be intresting to see how the DX11 Joker & DX12 Batman do in the after market, Maybe the DX11 will go up in value while the DX12 stays the same pretty much. :dunno

I think they'll both do pretty well. DX12 is already hitting back-order everywhere fairly quickly and unless Hot Toys decides to have another go at it, I'd say it will be come the premiere TDK or TDKR Batman to own.

However, Hot Toys could also end up re-issuing it to meet a greater demand for it and make improvements...

Unless we see some more Joker Variations (Nurse), I'd say the Ledger Joker run by finally nearing a closing as well.

Yep- I think the DX 12 may be the last HT Bats from Nolan films in a loooonng time..I see big $$$ prices on this. Sold out most everywhere within 1-2 months of release is a rarity with HT these days.

Nicholson Joker's price point has hurt sales I'm sure. The other factor here is he had just one headsculpt with hat hair locked in. If it weren't for those reasons, I'm sure he would have sold out long ago. Still a great-looking piece.

Thing is not many people actually like Christian Bale. Once the trilogy die's off it'll be Ledger fetching the big bucks I'd bet.

Both the current Batman and Joker figures have something that Keaton and Nicholson didn't have on release - Big box office numbers.

You have a whole age range on these pieces from 16-40 where as I'd bet the Nicholson/Keaton products were heavily sided to the 26 + range.

The target market for the current figures is much larger. You only have to look at the Avengers to realise this.

The best figure HT's released in the last while was CR Superman IMO and look a that - still floating about SS website. Quality is nothing - hype is everything.

I think Christian Bale was terrifuc as Bruce/Batman..the films themselves are fantastic, really strong stuff that will stand the test of time. I think Dark Knight almost cannot be beaten in terms of how it was approached and executed.

Uhhhhhhhh. :lol....It was a huge blockbuster.

I think SS might mean the timing of the two events, the release of the figures as merchandise that is relative to the release of the films. That at the time of the '89 figures, the take from it had already been well and truly taken by some 20+ years, whereas the box-office take from Dark Knight was much closer to the release of the figures. It was a lot more concurrent.

I think.

Does the PERS knob to move the Joker's eyes stick at first? Mine seems stuck and I'm afraid to move it and and break it.

My Terminator was like that. The eyes wouldn't go up. They eventually did though. No breakage.

PERS is so much fun huh? :lol

Yep, and it actually sold more tickets than TDKR. The only difference is that time has inflated the costs of tickets. So you might assume that TDKR did better but there were actually more a$$es in the seats to see Keaton Bats.

Also torrents weren't invented back then. :lol

Let me tempt you with a couple of pics

Still one of HTs best imo.

I put him away. I'm afraid I'll break it and leave him cross-eyed. :lol
When you look at the hi-res close-up pictures that people post, PERS can be really cool but when your eyesight is starting to go like mine is PERS is pretty useless, IMO.
