Re: Hot Toys – MMS183 - The Dark Knight Rises: Bane Collectible Figure

I appreciate the post Russel.

I'm going to get a few things in order and then log out for a while per DiFabio's suggestion.

Back from the pub. Don't be silly man, don't take this too seriously.
It's just the nature of anonymous forums. If we were discussing this in real life, I would have slapped you on the back of the head and you would have kicked me in the shins and then all would be good with the world.

That Bill the Butcher in the background is giving me a chubby.

Agreed.
I used take a lot of things seriously when still a newby and even got into a couple of arguments with fellow freaks.
But eventually, I've learned to just keep things civil and not take things personally.
This is supposed to be fun, a place where we all can talk about our passion.
I think that passion is the reason why it can also get out of hand which is pretty easy to do.

So just mainly, if things are getting out of hand, just let it go, and not take things too seriously. We dont always have to have the last word. :peace

Re: Hot Toys – MMS183 - The Dark Knight Rises: Bane Collectible Figure

I really wanna see someone who owns a Bane and DX12 figure and have each of them from one side to another on their first encounter like in the movie. With Bane in his "boss" pose holding his vest while saying, "Let's not stand on ceremony here....Mr. Wayne." That's what I wanna see using the HT figures cuz I know some of u guys have real good photography with the camera and lighting u use.:wave

Agreed. As I said earlier, in person I think we would get along great.

Spot on. I've had the same journey. But with me it seems to be cyclical. I'll think I've gotten past taking things to seriously, and a good year might go by. Then all of a sudden I find myself getting into these stupid confrontations. It seems to relate to just spending too much time here in general. Also, I think the DX12 mod thread burned me out a bit. I can see why some prefer to share less - or nothing at all. It can become mentally exhausting. And it has eaten up a lot of my time. Perhaps I've been projecting some of that on Rory (and a while back on Gippeto).

Anyway, regardless off the cause, I do need a more substantial break than the week or two I took off recently. And the key will be to actually log out, not just refrain from posting. It's the best thing for my sanity, and probably the best thing for the forum.

See you all when Bane and the DX Joker are in-hand. :duff

Looks great Tim! sad I won't be getting this anymore. Still going to finish my custom boots though :lol

That's honestly not it at all. I really don't enjoy exchanges like the one above at all. Gives me a stomach ache.

I'm just falling back into taking things too seriously.

Not trying to sound rude or start anything at all but I think that is true. I was surprised how upset you were getting in the DX12 thread when I was just goofying with you

always count on my boy Remy for some words of wisdom! :hi5:

Re: Hot Toys – MMS183 - The Dark Knight Rises: Bane Collectible Figure

How come you're not getting this Steve?

getting out of 1/6 mostly. Not necessarily going into 1/4 either, though I'm thinking about. Selling most of my collection except my Superman and Depp figures. I might get EB Bats and Joker to represent Nolan Bats but not even sure about it. just kind of losing interest in having them. If anything I'll be that person that mods a figure then sells it kind of like what CREG does lots of the time. Going to get anything from Man of Steel though for sure. Still love my Transformers though :lol

No problem. I've always loved your photography and you seem like a cool guy so I find it weird when I see people that seem like they should get on falling out. I see a lot of people on here that seem like they purposefully try to antagonise others, but neither of you seem like that. Hope if you do have a break you feel a bit more enthusiasm and feel a bit happier about things. Don't want that to sound condescending at all, just want everyone to be cool. :peace:lol

Re: Hot Toys – MMS183 - The Dark Knight Rises: Bane Collectible Figure

Awesome pics Tim, he looks great. If I have a little free cash any time soon he's definitely mine. Did you go your usual route, eBay? Can't find anything from hkapestore or loontentoys which I know we have both used in the past! They're always the cheapest.

Re: Hot Toys – MMS183 - The Dark Knight Rises: Bane Collectible Figure

My most anxiously awaited figure! Even more than DX 11...call me crazy!

Re: Hot Toys – MMS183 - The Dark Knight Rises: Bane Collectible Figure

I think, as others have said, a lot of people are used to seeing the joker on their shelf, be it v1, bank robber or the dx01, whereas bane is a whole new character that we've not had before. So I imagine there's probably a different kind of excitement over this as there is for dx11. Can't wait for either though. :rock

Re: Hot Toys – MMS183 - The Dark Knight Rises: Bane Collectible Figure

I'm more excited for this than Joker too for some reason. Not taking anything away from Joker, its a great looking figure.

I'm really anticipating DX11 as well, but I went from absolutely zero interest in Bane to him being my most wanted out of ally preorders. The pics here really sold me, as did growing to really love Hardy's portrayal.
