I laughed too but that's what I read. Just in case the info came from optobotomus fb page or whatever he's name is And Mysteriously he's the only one who kept the contract with SSC. But according to him sideshow told him that they and Marvel are checking checking on Budget Stark because what he's doing is ilegal. I personally don't think that the post carriers check boxes which ones look like toys. Just to share a good laugh I wasn't serious BTW I have bought things on this forum.

Valid point. But I'm not saying do not buy. I'm saying be careful as I don't know were people on this forum are from. If it doesn't apply to you then ignore the warning. That doesn't change the SSC is keeping tabs. Seanlong and shartimusprime from you tube had their contracts revoke because of that.

If they had contracts wouldn't they get the figures free.from Sideshow or at least severely discounted? Why would they buy from Hong Kong in the first place?

Optibotomus stated that is about views on YouTube, thats where the money is. The figures release first in Hk they buy them and review them before SSC gives them to them. If they wait for SSC they will be review a two or three month old figure.

Yes, that makes sense. They signed a contract to get product from Sideshow and feature it on their YouTube channel but they chose to break that contract, buy the product from a competitor and review it instead. That would be like Coke paying you to only drink their products and then you go out and and buy a case of Pepsi and tell the world about it. Of course Sideshow is going to end their contract. That doesn't mean the figures are illegal or Sideshow is watching Hong Kong importers, it means those two YouTubers breached their contracts and Sideshow decided not to pay them/give them free stuff, that's all.

Unless you have a contract with Sideshow to only buy figures from them there's nothing they can do to you. You can order from Budget Stark or your local comic shop or the weird dude who sits in the bus stop on the corner all day and not only can they do nothing but they won't care either.

I wondered what the deal was with Sideshow and Sean Long recently because he hasn't been promoting Sideshow the last few reviews I've seen him do. I can understand why Sideshow would pull promotion for buying from an outside source when he's supposed to be under contract to get review samples from them. I wasn't aware that Shartimus Prime had a contract with anyone exclusively for Hot Toys and Sideshow stuff as he seems to get figures to review from various sources and never mentioned having a deal with Sideshow. I don't think the average collector has anything to worry about. It's not worth it to me to import figures early just because I'd rather not pay extra for them but I can't see how importing them early would be illegal.

It blows my mind that these guys are "under contract" with Sideshow.

I mean, I knew they were. . . but it's still crazy that there are assigned "taste-makers" for this hobby.

I was reading somewhere else here on the forum that Secret Base wasn't letting Budget Stark film anymore. . . wouldn't surprise me to hear that they won't sell to him either. SSC is the official NA distributor for Hot Toys and Budget Stark is not. He seems to be selling to a number of people, so it's not a shock that he's rubbing folks the wrong way.

They have no grounds to not sell to him. He could sue them. Not allowing filming in the store? Sure that's their call.

He could just as easily get someone else to purchase for him anyway.

This seems particularly stupid on behalf of Sideshow and HT anyway. It will not stop people buying these from HK, its cheaper for many people and faster. If they want more people to order from them, how about they start charging decent shipping costs and set up another base outside of the US so the crazy customs charges are no longer an issue?

If anything these videos encourage SS sales and preorders. Morons.

You seem to have it all figured out. You should become the new HT/SSC distributor for the UK.
