Hey guys, I've been following this thread since they first announced Marty and this will be my very first hot toys purchase. Anyway, my EX Order was converted about a month after they sold out and I got on the flex plan. Then the delays came and the last delay pushed my last payment all the way to June 25th! Today I decided I couldn't wait any longer so I called up Sideshow customer service to have them charge the remaining balance and have them ship it asap. Well, the girl had me on hold forever just to come back and tell me that they didn't have any more in stock and that I had to wait. So needless to say pretty bumbed out. But I love all the pics you guys post!

Bummer. I hope they can fulfill the order!

I opened this figure up today, and agree with Pop that he is very excellent. I was skeptical that this could match up with my fancy schmancy custom with the Trevor Grove sculpt, Cheungkinmen paintwork, Yunsil outfit, and Rainman accessories (an all-star cast if there ever was one!). But. . .it wins pretty handily. I took a few comparison pics for those interested (there are still probably 2 or 3 of us around who got a custom McFly way back when). I used a slim body for the custom, but it's much taller. I'm not sure if the ankles were just longer there, or if this new figure is just extra small. The denim jacket and vest are a much better fit with the Hot Toys figure, particularly in ther arms of the jacket, which allow for better movement, and are more tightly cuffed around the wrist. With the HT figure, the watch is much more in scale, tape deck is connected to the headphones here and is more durable (and seems to have a little tape inside!) and I have to say that the sculpt is a better representation of the character. Shoes have a nice, subtle weathering on the HT figure. Yunsil's pants are of a much higher quality though, and have better looking weathering, and I like the design inside the jacket more, though I'm not sure which is more accurate. Rainman's skateboard is slightly larger, and is of a higher quality, while also having the logos, but the wheels don't turn.

Think HT is more accurate denim jacket. It only makes sense that the cuff pattern and inner jacket pattern would match.

Thank you for the comparison review karamazov80.

I remember people selling their custom Marties when Hot Toys announced their version.

Are you going to keep yours?

BTW nice looking collection ;-)

The difference in size is astounding!

Excellent looks Karamazov! Can tell lots of work went into that custom. Like you and others have said the sculpt and scale look to be the biggest improvements. Some people do not like the expression of the hot toys sculpt but personally I think it works great for Marty McFly! Glad they went with the look as opposed to a neutral/blank stare. Very nice Teen Wolf figure too! :duff

Great pics Sam, love the 80's shelf!

Do you think they made a custom body for Marty?

Alright I reordered Marty! Let's try this again. I have the funds now. Very excited!

Thanks. I plan on keeping it. I love the Grove sculpt, and as I said, this figure has other advantages over the HT version. And though I think the HT version is better overall, when you move that figure into another room, the custom still shines. I think I'll keep on on display, and the other in my office.

Think HT is more accurate denim jacket. It only makes sense that the cuff pattern and inner jacket pattern would match.
That would be the most obvious move, but. . .'80s style. . .there must have been some reason Yunsil did it that way. I'm wondering if she had access to pictures of the actual jacket used in the film.

Great pics Sam, love the 80's shelf!

Do you think they made a custom body for Marty?
Thanks Ted! It might be a variation on the Robin body. But I don't think it's the standard slim body. JOhnny's Teen Wolf is about the same size as my custom, and he used a slim body, as well.

My Ex. shipped today. I was on the fence about canceling but Sideshow gave me a week to think it over. Marty is en route.

I'm seeing the first film in theaters next week for the anniversary. Looks like this figure will be showing up at about the same time.

Right when I'm contemplating selling mine. I had to cancel the Delorean due to uncertain circumstances by the time it comes around plus....it'd cost me almost a grand. Even if I have that saved up I'm not sure I'd want to spend it - conceivably I would spend it on other toys that could come to light by then but not on one huge item from a license I like but never felt compelled to own toys from before. And when even figures are hard to sell on the aftermarket nowadays **** knows how I'd offload the Delorean if I bought it and then regretted it. So.

If doc was a sure thing would it change your mind? I'm really hoping there is an announcement this summer, but still not holding my breath. Personally I couldn't be happier with the way Marty came out, but if you are only a casual fan of the movies the delorean is both pricey and a space hog.

Still no shipping notice and still haven't taken my money. SSC is taking their time maaaaan
