Hot Toys - MMS 257 - BACK TO THE FUTURE - Marty McFly
First of all, I love the actor, the character and the trilogy!
But for some reason, I can't get really excited about the figure.
I just can't get used to the headsculpt, something is bothering me.
I don't know if its the open mouth or the eyes, but I can't feel it just yet.
During the little photoshoot I did with this figure, I kept thinking this expression doesn't really suit the pose I am trying to achieve.
His expression seems to obviously meant for the movie poster pose, nothing wrong with that, but I like to pose my figures a lot and it just doesn't sit with me just yet, but maybe over time it will.
Another issue I have is with his neck, it seems a bit long and it doesn't fit nicely on his headsculpt, with some poses you will see a little opening between his neck and head.
The outfit is great, only because of the multiple layers of clothing, his arms are kinda hard to pose up.
And please Hot Toys, use some better glue for your buttons.
when posing this figure, some of his buttons from his lifevest/denim jacket drop off very easily, you do get some spares, but they are so small it is kinda a hassle, and can be quite frustrating.
They included a display stand with a waistgrabble, very sad about this, cause I kinda hate these things, especially with Marty who has 4 layers of clothing, and you have to pry this between those to hide them up good.
I think I know why they did this, so you can get some skateboarding poses out of him, but I'd rather have seen a dynamic stand with a clear plastic stand for the skateboard, like they did with the New Goblin
The accessoiries are great, and gives you more display options.
The sunglasses are cheap tho and only serve its purpose for the movie poster pose, cause they don't sit nicely on his head as is described in the manual.
Even tho, I have all these nitpics, I am glad tho that Hot Toys released a real classic like this between all the Marvel/Star Wars releases.
