And what, refund the thousands and thousands of people who have had orders placed for over a year, and who have been waiting for a GOTG 1 Drax for close to three years...? That would be the -most- dickish thing Hot Toys has ever done. =P

Even worse than no Yellowjacket? I guess so since they never took official PO's for YJ. Still pissed though, want him and about 10-12 Ultron Drones.

Um... transfer their orders onto the Vol 2 version? Like... say Drax costs 300... put that onto an order for the Vol 2 version?

Why? he has the EXACT same pants but they are blue. It's kind of like Vision from CW some of his gold parts were silver and that was the only change so i can understand why HT did not make a CW Vision. If they do make a V2 Drax it could be a summer exclusive with only 3000 made (like SS Batman). All they would need is the pants, name change on the stand, new box design and maybe a cool gun or something

I got Drax on preorder too and to be honest, if they do a Drax for GotG vol.2 and give him an additional head etc. I'd be pissed. Owning a figure for a year or more, being able to enjoy it before HT announces an improved version is one thing but seeing an improved version being announced before you even get the "old" one is just not cool. Even if they decided to do a deluxe version with extra face I'd feel cheated.

They should just announce a GotG vol.2 add-on set with a paair of blue pants and an additional head sculpt or whatever it is they want to include with the new Drax. Like that people who preordered the first Drax can decide whether they wanna just stick with the old or upgrade to the new one.

The point is, that I prefer the blue pants and if the vol. 2 Drax comes with an extra head, I want that. If the vol. 1 Drax had been out already and on people's shelves, I'd just sell that one and get the new one coz I don't want 2. I want 1 and I want to be able to choose the one I like best. Easy as that. I don't have a GotG and a GotG2 shelf. I have 1 of each character and I don't plan on double dipping. The people who do, could just get a second Drax and the add-on, there you go, GotG2 Drax. It's different than with other releases Hot Toys has done imo so it should call for a different treatment too.

Are you expecting a step-by-step tutorial? lol..

Why dont we just wait for the figure to come out first?
Then we can figure out how to actually fit it inside the Detolf once we have the physical items on hand....

yes preferably in a youtube vid and with instructions on how to swap the pants and what mods are the best
I spent the week getting in some new detolfs and re-organizing the collection after work and now that Im done I cant figure it out, the space is packed



I guess Il just place him the the cube next to that one with Hulk

It would fit perfectly if the bases weren't displayed along with the figure. Its not like people can see the bases for figures in the very far back so I dont see the difference in displaying the figures with it.

You might have to rotate the bases around or form a "V" shape putting Gamora and Star-Lord closer together and Rocket and Drax wide apart in the front.

It would probably help if you either not use the bases or get the cheap ones from Ebay, they're smaller. I only use these in my display.

I think you guys are right, Il be swapping the bases in the mean time. Gues Im of to ebay, il throw in a big guy like Terminator or something to test the space

Check my Instagram, my detolf display has them all on one shelf as well and Drax will fit in there without any space issues. (I'll have to remove the mix tape though.)

Just have 3 rows with some figures blocking the others. Its a variation on what you have. Instead of 1,2,1; its 2,1,2.

Drax and Groot in Back
Starlord in the middle of the detolf.
Gamora and Rocket up front.

Groot is tall enough that Gamora won't block him. Rocket is short enough that he wont block Drax.

That's how I'm displaying mine.

Great advise guys with that setup I can still use the bases too, I gues ive burned out my imagination for posing after reorganizing everything, that and I never payed attention in geometry

Didn't HT release Ant-Man and his CW version back-to-back?

I think at this point... they should cancel the first one and just release the Vol. 2 version first....

Pretty much right when the first Ant-Man figure released, the CW one went up for PO.

There's a similar situation right now with the continued delays of the BvS Wonder Woman figure and the likely Wonder Woman figure from the upcoming solo movie. People are speculating they will just cancel the BvS version and merge it with the solo version. Very, very doubtful. The BvS one will release, and the solo figure will likely summarily go up for PO subsequent that. They will probably just reuse the same body as the BvS version, repaint the same sculpt and change the hue of the outfit (being that the color of it in the solo film is a bit brighter than in BvS).

My guess is you'll probably see something similar with this Drax. It won't be canceled and merged with the V2 version. Once this one releases, you'll probably see a PO for the V2 version shortly after. With that one, they will probably again reuse the same body from the first version and maybe include a newly fabricated sculpt with a completely different expression, and of course change the outfit.

And there is the JL Wonder Woman this fall. Then all of the GotG in the Avengers movie next year. Thor and Hulk this fall in the Thor film that will be in Avengers a few months later. there is going to be a lot overlap

Yep. BvS and the solo WW figures will essentially be the same figure, just different paint apps and different colored outfits. I suspect you'll see improvements to the actual figure and a newly fabricated sculpt on the JL version.

Same will go for Drax. I'm leaning more towards the V2 figure will be the same repainted sculpt and body as the first. Different outfit. Improvements to the figure on the IW version.

Like Ant-Man and CW Ant-Man, POs for solo WW and V2 Drax will go up as soon as the BvS and GotG versions release, respectively.

Forgive me... but Hot Toys must make a pretty penny. Couldn't they afford a bigger team or whatever to make sure figures release on time?
