I just pre-ordered Drax on Sideshow's website.

Hopefully the first version release will be out of the way before that happens...but then again, it's Hot Toys so who knows!!

In the promo pic for gg vol. 2 figures it looks like drax's pants are really bright blue...in the promo pics for the first gg Drax his pants look much darker. So maybe vol. 2 Drax just has new pants?

I really feel like we will never see Drax. Every time I get an email update about him I think, excellent, he's about to ship. Alas, it's a delay email. I'm almost certain my Rocket Vol.2 will be here before Drax.

Anyone else just waiting for Drax V2 now? I think we'll see the same figure with just different clothes and I don't need 2 versions of this character.

Same clothes just different color and the expression looks the same to me. I could see them including a laughing sculpt to separate the V1 and V2

I'm sorry but I have to strongly disagree. It's understandable that collectors (especially of HT) want the "latest and greatest" which, In my opinion, doesn't always work for me. Not going to lie and say that GotG was on my pull list back in the 80's when I started reading comics, couple that with the fact that as a kid and teenager, I would rarely have enough money to buy more than 4-5 books a month. After about 1992-93, I stopped reading comics altogether and didn't get back into reading comics vehemently until 2012. My point (do I have one, lol) is that the initial portrayal of Drax by Batista in GotG V. 1 was where the magic and fascination came from.

Ok, yes. I know the trailers so far have shown Drax to be exceptionally funny but that's not yet a known quantity. The first movie made me fall in love with Drax, Rocket, Groot, Gamora, and Star-Lord (WHO) so I want the OG cast of figures for that reason alone. Hope that makes sense. Oh and if they release a V. 2 I'll definitely get them as well. But seriously, is anything going to top "Nothing goes over my head. My reflexes are too fast; I would catch it".

And what, refund the thousands and thousands of people who have had orders placed for over a year, and who have been waiting for a GOTG 1 Drax for close to three years...? That would be the -most- dickish thing Hot Toys has ever done. =P

I don't think there was much thought put in to that comment.

From a business standpoint it's hard. I'm not sure anything they add to a V2 would spur a "I need two" of these in many a collector, minus someone buying the whole team a second time. I'm almost tempted to say their best bet is to up production of the first, include the blue pants, and call it a complete edition.

I'm betting the V2 will have a yelling sculpt though.
