I'll settle on the crappy version and stick him in the back with no lights on him

That was the plan all along. All of the complaints about the color, the physique and the expression don't seem so important now, huh? ;)

Yes they do. For these prices, I rather see them take their time and get it right rather than churning out half baked efforts

Completely agree. However, I'm scared we're not going to see him at all at this rate. Hope I'm wrong.

Other than the ex Starlord I think you'll be taking a loss on the other figures

A lot of work, yes. But to be over 6 months removed from the initial movie release with no hint of Drax is alarming. I believe we're in full AOU release now and have very little chance of seeing Drax until Guardians 2.

An update would be nice. Anything would be appreciated. But this is HT we're talking about. Guess I'll have to live with 4 out of the 5 Guardians.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys – MMS - Guardians of the Galaxy: Drax The Destroyer Collectible Figu

They showed prototypes of all the Guardians, and to leave out one of them would be the biggest cop-out HT has ever pulled. No way they're going to drop this, the backlash they'd received for putting out an incomplete team would be a huge blow against their credibility. He'll get made one way or another.

I wish I had your optimism. They've made incomplete teams before, so it could easily happen again.

I think X men is a whole different story. Everybody knows why they aren't yet released. Not Hot Toys fault on them.

The main reasons I'm optimistic is because:

A) We haven't seen HT back down on their Marvel team lineups so far and with GOTG being hot property at the moment, it will be a huge misfire to back down on 1 out of 5 members of the main team.

B) Unlike X-Men where we only got Charles as a cancelled prototype and Wolverine being the only consistent release, they've actually put out all the Guardians and showcased Drax with everyone else. With X-Men, the licensing with that property is also a whole different story in of itself.

C) HT could be taking their time with modding Drax. Alternatively, with the AOU hype building up, they're probably carefully deciding on when to put him up, just so that he won't seem underwhelming in comparison to all the other Marvel figures they've been putting out.

If we can get Thanos in the middle of all the AOU pre-orders, Drax should follow suit at some point.

Since when is this a Hot property at the moment...? look at all the starlords being sold off, Id argue this line is dead...

I'd agree

These companies are so dumb, they don't know how successful a film will be but they do know for these types of movies a certain amount will sell, so they should have these ready to ship within months of the movie coming out. A year later we have all come to our senses and are on to something else

I think maybe HT (as well as Marvel) were surprised at how popular the GotG film was so there was little forethought or planning and pretty much a rush to get the figures out. Compare it to AoU where we have a load of figures already showcased months before the film is even in the cinemas.

It's a shame really.

That said, it hasn't died for me. I still feel the hype and I want my complete set!
