^^^^ can't tell, I'd need to see a bigger photo.

For the helmet issues, of course they were not going to fix it. If they fixed the helmet it would make this the definitive Fett, and make all other Fetts look like a sad story up until now. From Super Trooper, through Sideshow's ESB, HT's ROTJ, the Animated, etc etc.

Personally, there is nothing here that beats the SSC's ESB, except for paintwork. And the paintwork, if it's the same as the photos were are seeing, blows the SSC paintwork out of the water. However, everything else is the same. In fact SSC's ESB flightsuit has a much better fit. Between braids, blasters, etc. no big upgrades anywhere. It's all in the paintwork. And the paintwork for me is worth it for the upgrade.

I’m reading a lot of complaints regarding the helmet. From what was shown is the helmet worse than the SS versions? What helmet is the best? HT, SS, or Medicom?

Don't forget the hasbro black titanium fett helmet. Not sure about in hand but pics looked ok.

The way that the helmet looks in the new Battlefront games looks like the perfect in-between design to me personally. It doesn't look exactly like ESB or ROTJ to my eyes, just Boba Fett

It baffles me that Hot Toys can't, or choose not to, get it right.

I'm shocked no one here has yet put up a compare of the new ESB helmet against the old HT ROTJ helmet.

Hope someone's working on it now. You know who you are.

Hmmm... I passed on the Rotj version as I prefer the ESB version and I already had the 1st SS release. What's cool about the deluxe is it's like almost having both a ESB & ROTJ Fett all in one (- a few differences, mainly belt and left forearm guard). I might jump on this even though I love the SS Fett. If I dump my SS Fett I would keep the light up base though. I also just bought the HT ROTJ Fett gun on TA as I always liked that gun better with the bigger muzzle. Plus if I do get this & decide to keep my SS ESB, I can display this guy with the alternate Jedi backpack & guantlets, and now his ROTJ gun. It was kinda pricey @ $30, but none on ebay & I feel it will be even more sought after now after seeing this new Dx ESB version. TA had 2, so still another in stock if any one else is thinking the same...

What are the differences between the helmets besides the pain app? (Regular and deluxe)

Here's a side-by-side of the HT helmets. The new ESB head is tilted down a bit more than the ROTJ, but taking that into account, it looks like the same helmet with different side panels and paint job.

And here's the two full pics those were taken from.

Thanks for that!

I actually see a bit more flare in the ESB helmet even with the slight tilt -- which means there's even more flare than shown. Not huge but its there. You can tell the angle by the extra distance between where the scope attaches to the helmet in both. More distance needed on ESB to make the rangefinder go up straight.

To the more experienced HT and SSC buyers, what are the chances that it’ll change from this point. I noticed that the helmet ‘scarring’ paint app is different to the ROTJ but still not really accurate to ESB although it is closer.

Hot Toys has made changes to improve accuracy between initial prototype photos being shown and production of a number of figures before (Terminator 2 DX-13 Battle Damaged T-800 and Predator 2 Elder Predator 2.0 come to mind) when enough potential customers have let them know that they weren't happy with what they were showing. But they need to hear from collectors or Hot Toys will regard the reception as overwhelmingly positive and put out another "off" figure that could have easily been better than anything else that's come before it. If you're unhappy with this figure let them know on social media or via email and don't count on them to make changes just because they should or to revisit Boba Fett in the future with an ESB Fett 2.0 that would hopefully be more accurate. Howard Chan seems to love Star Wars, but Boba Fett isn't Iron Man.

I never really paid attention to the nuances in Fett’s outfit before, so I’m not sure what the key differences are. Looking though at those images that juxtapose the ESB figure and the RotJ figure, I think I like the look of the RotJ outfit better.

Yeah I think we all need to contact them and they will most likely change if they can see that they are going to lose sales due to inaccuracy.

I had no intention of buying the V1 SS Fett back then but when I saw it on display I was blown away. Loved the contrast of colours, the dirty pants etc. Also “Whats in the Box” offering with light up Cloud City base, multiple hands, feet options all for $170 CAN. There was a lot of “BANG” in my Canadian buck!! When HT released their ROTJ I was on the fence, essentially over $100 more for a HT. When the figure was available at my collectors store I took my SS to trade (and add $100 +). When I was at the store I compared the two and I just loved the contrast of colours with the SS compared to the darker reds, greens of ROTJ. Very happy that I did not make the trade and kept my SS. Looking at these initial images there is no temptation to sell my SS again.

I thought it was just my eyes in seeing a difference between the two so I'm glad someone else can see slightly more flare in the helmet.
