Just coming to this thread after a long time, and wow those ink spots! Really hope the Sideshow ones don’t have that issue.

Got mine today from Loonten...also marker points everywhere, even on the boots. But I was able to remove it with industrial rubbing alcohol...

HT should take any one of these with a single spot back and make it right.

It isn't the consumer's responsibility to fix something out of the box. That invites carelessness on a manufacturer's end for future releases.

I would definitively hit it with some water after removed with alcohol. Especially the industrial strength stuff. Even a watered down rubbing alcohol would be the safest.

Wow...I'm getting a little paranoid about this purchase. From a QA perspective, who would think this is acceptable? Have any of these pics been uploaded to HT on FB?

I tried it with the regular stuff first but it didn‘t work so I used the stronger stuff I work everyday with.
Washed it after it with soapy water.

Yeah, plus I'm not certain that rubbing alcohol left unwashed and over time is such a good idea.

Yeah, imo these guys are crazy attacking a brand new $200+ figure with rubbing alcohol, especially because its in so many places, and very visible places. This is 100% a return/exchange situation. You have no idea the outcome, and as WG says, the longer term issues of rubbing alcohol residue.

will be interesting to see wht happens when the SS ones begin to arrive, anyone do a chat with SS rep and explain issue seen here? see if they are aware of it at all.

I'm trying not to freak out. But if there were a problem with SS stock, I'm sure they would make it right. Let's hope for the best.

they would have to be aware to check them all or lots before shipping or it would get really messy for them, or even worse they claim all are like that.:lol

There have been several situations where a widespread issue has occurred and customers were told by Sideshow to return for a refund or pound sand.

I‘m not attacking my figure, I work with that stuff every day and I‘m well aware how to use it and how it works.
And it‘s an easy solution for me, cause shipping the figure back would cost me around 40-60 bucks, then I would have to buy custom fees (again) for the replacement, again 60 bucks.
So no, I can live with it.
But yes, I reportet it to Loonten and Hot Toys.

I was able to get the colored dots off the extra jumpsuit using a Tide to go pen. Took some time to remove as you have to wait and let the soap soak into the ink spot.

It also looks like the jumpsuit was made not to come off the figure as there thread lines down the center of the suit.

I would return but as you mentioned that’s just an added fee. Soapy water is perfect. When I used to do flooring (ages ago) we would spot clean with it but if it was just left - alcohol only - it discolored or altered the fabric.
Glad you found a remedy... and cleaned the alcohol out 👍🏽
