For fun I put it in the gantry, though of course Stark didn't need a gantry to put on/remove his armor after the VI lol

Looks great! How do you like the Gantry? Presence, feel, materials? I was looking into picking up the HOA, but there seems to be alot quandaries about what you get for the price.

The Gantry is fantastic!!! It takes up a bit more space but the presence feels great; it's a big, tech-y diorama that fits IM so well. It's well articulated so you can vary up poses. Despite the number of moving parts it feels sturdy and the joints are tight from my experience, and even the small parts don't feel like they're going to legitimately break (save for an instance where a piece didn't have enough glue applied from the factory, but I easily superglued it).

Great shots and I appreciate the write up. This is definitely on my short, short list. Only issue is space. Not that I couldn't find some space, but it has to displace nicely and fit in with my collection.

I still want the HOA too but ... too much to get into.

Thanks! Ah such is collecting with all these decisions lol Whatever you go for I hope you're happy and content with :wave

I want to put this on a shelf but its max height is 15". Can this fit on a 15" shelf if I angle some of the arms and such downward? Will it look weird? Thoughts?

Big haul today! Darth Maul with Speeder, IW War Machine, IW Cap Movie Promo, IW Thanos, IW Iron Man Mark 50, Chitauri Commander, and the Mark VII! Haven?t even opened anything else up yet because this guy is to much fun. I?ve officially committed to building up The Avengers from A1. Have Hulk with Banner and the new A1/EG Cap on PO. Just need to hunt down the other three now.

Need to buy a good camera still, so these are just crappy Ipad pics, but damn this figure is awesome!

Took me 30 minutes to install those batteries, felt like a high stakes game of operation :lol Anyone have a strategy to get batteries in quickly? Combo of tiny batteries, plus magnets on the helmet, and slightly fat fingers made this a valiant and frustrating battle.

Really like all the display options available, I can tell I?ll be switching this guy up every other week. Clean, dirty, unmasked, ?missile mode? with the should pads and mini rocket on the arms... then there is all the thigh options, think I prefer the gold. Definitely gets the value out of this figure.

No parts are falling off except for these two back pieces, which is annoying, but they stay place after I have a finished pose.

Too afraid to try pod mode and I don?t really like it all that much.

Pretty dumb HT skimped out on the light up base too.

All said, I think this is the definitive Iron Man to have. My Mark 42 and 43 can?t compare... and I don?t think the 50 will surpass this one.

Congratulations on that haul!
Someone posted a pic in an Iron Man thread about the batteries years ago. I am not going to look for it, but I will describe it.
Stack the three batteries you need and wrap a tiny piece of scotch tape around them. What you end up with is a single elongated battery (think of a tiny soda can). That single battery is way easier to install.

Jeezus -- there's $2,000 sitting on the floor there.

About $2700 with tax and shipping. Really hate the taxes on this stuff now. I remember when there wasn’t any... saved a lot more back then. Plus you have SSC shipping charges which have gone waaay up. But I got $150 back in store credit from BBTS and $70 in reward points from SSC. So, about 8% back.

So I just got this guy last week and have been fiddling around with him. What can I say that hasn't already been siad about this figure? I already had the plastic Mark VII and was afraid this would be like buying the same figure. But right when I held this in my hands, this is a totally different figure! I can say this is the best IM figure to date. It may even be better than the Mark 85, but too early to tell and I have that on reserve also.
First of all I like the VII design. It's was revolutionary at the time, and I think it's the last good bulky armor before the spandex looking, nanotech armors. This is my second diecast, I like the weight, however isn't as heavy as the War Machine MK IV, or bulky, particularly in the legs. All IM/WM figures should have been diecast.
ANyway back to this VII. I don't know what it is. Maybe it's the matte finish, or the wear/weathering on the armor to make it more realistic. The sheer bulk, more so than the plastic version. Maybe it's the proportions. Someone said it isn't color accurate to the movie. I think it looks great, almost like a burgundy color. Even by itself, standing in a museum pose, it looks like a masterpiece. I haven't had much trouble with the shoulder armor that some have said pop off too easily. I make sure to press firmly on the spot that has the peg. Also some in a video said when switching out any thing or posing, those pieces should be the first to come off, and the last to put back on.
Given all the accessories, the different display options (normal, damaged, weaponized, pod, or any combination of these modes), it's a collectors dream, lots to play with. I have a feeling when this gets sold out, the price will skyrocket higher than previous versions. If this is your first Hot Toys figure, I both envy you, and feel sorry for you. I envy you in that it's a great figure to start with and didn't have to go through buying previous IM figures in your quest to finding the best representation of the figure. I feel sorry for you, because this will spoil you for other figures. You will have higher standards, expectations. That can be a good and bad.

I feel the same about this armour. I?m a fan of the mechanical stuff rather than nano tech. I can?t wait to get him! Anyone taken delivery from UK sellers yet??

Great photos ScoobyDoo!
