Hot Toys - 1/6 TIE Fighter

Sadly I don't think this is going to be made, rather just a proto promo for the movie. However, if by some chance it is made I will have to take a second mortgage out to buy one cause this thing would be ridiculously expensive. I'd guestimate in the range of $1200 to $2000 best and worst case scenario. Most likely somewhere in between near $1500. Also think due to its shear size and it would be limited to like 500 pieces or less I would imagine.

Yeah, the efx studio scale TIE was $1000 and was maybe a third or quarter of the size of this. They ended up making around 650 of those.

This thing would be north of 2k. I'd say 4000 as it sits. But they could change it to make it easier to produced and a little cheaper. Also, the pace of Star Wars releases is pretty impressive. I hate hot toys for getting the license, though it being Howard's fav I wasn't surprised..but I've stayed away from Star Wars. I'm a completest so Star Wars scares the poo out of me. Way to much stuff. But, I've been sucked in. Dang it. Saw this neat "thing" showing all the releases/PO in the last yearish.

Yup. Just realized it gets even crazier when I realize I only have two of those in hand (stormtrooper set) and almost all the rest of 1/6 on pre-order.

It's too much for me to handle. Okay, first of all I'm a non-completist, OCD minimalist with an obsession for a "reference" collection.

(We're all weird here.)

But seriously, all of these in this compressed period of time? With overlapping drop dates? This release schedule gives me pause and I don't even want all of it.

I see everything I'm interested coming out by Xmas, and I'm thinking...I've got a trip to Europe overlapping these releases. I don't want to compromise my purchasing power. Whatever, it'll sort itself out, but this is a hell of a lot of consumer product dropping at once.

Why do you hate they have the license?

Very cool picture though. Incredible what is coming out in a 12 month span. I bought/Pre Ordered everything except the Shadowtrooper, Spacetrooper, Vader and Stormy Luke.... although the last two are most likely going to be bought....

At this point, any Star Wars Hot Toys figure will be a instant pre order.

I was half joking about the hate. Lol becuase it adds more things for me to collect...and chances are high I'll end up seeing other SW stuff now and wanting it to go with these. Like sideshows speeder or whatnot. Just lamenting getting pulled to the proverbial dark side. Lol

I gotta say I love Marvel but find Star Wars line a million times harder to resist buying...I told myself I would only buy the core characters so I'm really holding out on anything TFA related....SWs figures are just really nice.

Good luck with that. I forced myself to stay away from the OT figures because I'm a completionist and I knew what I would be getting into. Then I saw the TFA figures and I pre-ordered them. Now I've pre-ordered all of the OT figures and am trying to track down Stormtroopers as well.

If they did... I would probably buy it and put it with either my AOTC/Clone Wars display or TFA display. For now though, I can not pass up SSC versions.
