Just a thought:

Do you guys think they use (actors in 300) some juice in order to prepare for the role?...

Absolutely not, it would be highly illegal and extremely unethical. The movie studio and production company would never take that kind of risk just to make their actors look as buff as ever for the film.

They all did extreme training with cardio, weights, and super strict diets :lecture

They didn't even look like juicers either, they all look naturally the best shape a man could be in :lecture

Om nom nom I adore this piece sooo much.
I haven't posed him since I first got him but every day it still manages to impress

Leonidas are one of the top 5 best figure made by HT imo. Leo and Blade are next on my must buy list... Is approx. 400 british pounds a good price for each figure? Does someone know where to find these figures at a reasonable price?

Happy to hear that you're impressed with the figure. Leo is better on display rather than being in his box on my shelf collecting dust :)

I'd exercise some patience and keep an eye on the commerce section of this forum. Lack of patience cost me a bit of cash when I ebayed Mr Bean and OC Bats, only for both of them to be offered cheaper by SSF members not long after that. 400 pounds is not a great price, but does sound about par, so I'd call it an ok price.

Thanks for the help my friend. :) I'll take your advice and wait and see if a better price comes up here on the forum or somewhere else. I have the cash but I don't like the idea of paying 400 pounds for something that was originally like 150-180.

I was in the same boat a few months ago, and the lowest I saw was $350.00 USD. I almost purchased this guy but decided to hold out after hot toys began re-issuing figures. In light of hot toys new strategy of re-issuing I will never pay significantly higher than retail again.

^^ Except if there's one figure unlikely to ever get a re-release it's King Leo. But who knows, it will be a sure money winner for them so it can't be absolutely ruled out.

I would certainly not like the idea of paying 400 pounds for something that was originally 150 and then see it being re-released for 150 again. :monkey4

But I don't see a re-release happening...

I agree. It doesn't seem like there is much improvement that can be done with this guy, but I think they will eventually re-issue anyway. Especially when you consider that another 300 movie is on the horizon and will likely introduce at least one character worthy of hot toy 1/6th treatment. Honestly I would settle for another character from 300 such as Stelios, but I think a Leonidas re-issue is more likely.

The high prices are completely worth it. I don't see this being re issued because it's neither Iron Man nor Batman.

My advice: Go for it and don't look back

It sucks, this has already happened to me once and almost happened to me a second time, but the second time around I sold my figure as soon as a re-issue was hinted and made most of my money back. I have since sold every figure that I paid a ridiculous price over retail for and I refuse to ever do it again. Hot toys re-issuing is a huge game changer especially for a hobby as expensive as this one.

Agreed. I'll wait and see if I can find it for a reasonable price. If I find it for 200-250 british pounds then I wouldn't be that mad if they re-released it at 150-180.

I really doubt Hot Toys will reissue King Leonidas...it's one thing for Hot Toys to do a TDK Joker 2.0 because he is a wide-spread fan favourite, but King Leonidas and 300 is now one of those cult-films that won't get much attention anymore.

As the price seems to be climbing higher and higher daily, my advice is agree on a reasonable price with yourself and then buy him when you find a figure at that price. I'd say around $400-500 is the average price for him nowadays...and worth it :lecture

Honestly, how many times do I have to say it? Just go for it. Hot Toys will never re issue this figure. There is just not enough demand in their eyes. If you have the money to spare, get him. Don't worry about upcoming Hot Toys or newly released Hot Toys, because the longer you wait the deeper the hole in your heart becomes.

The words I speak are as wise as that of the mighty sloth:lecture
