Which comic books are you talking about specifically?

With so many different artists & writers that have worked on him, no one version is definitive.

I hope you folks are wrong about the lack of Spidey love out there. If it is generally accepted that SMIII was pretty poor, with most of the cast weeping their eyes out a one point or another, and his 'love interest' - who seemed just fine with him being SM at the end of SMII - turning into a two timing and depressive emo...

I think folks are ready for a better take on the character. I liked what Sam R tried to do, but I did not like the way in which he did it. He nailed the costume and the general look amazingly. But he really did miss a lot of the rest.

They are wrong. Fanboys may rule the internet, but the theaters will be filled with teens and children with little ability to make critical descisions. They just know its a new Spidey, won't care about "cannon" or the behind the scenes politics, or even care that the 3rd film was weak. The advanced fan_____ing won't stop this film. The only thing that could kill it is if the movie actually sucks, and then word of mouth (or word of Twitter) could doom it.

Love the outfit. To be honest, like the new one way over the Raimi.

I'm starting to like it better, it's more sleek looking. And Garfield does look a better fit for Peter, not perfect but better than Tobey.

Marvel put some ASM props on display at TRU Timesquare today, they further prove Spider-Man's eyes are reflective not yellow. I expect Spider-Man to have accurate eyes, there is no excuse. Plus an accurate backpack and skateboard would be nice too. Pictures from Actionfigureinsider.com.
