Gruesome fact: their necks don't get longer, the rings dislocate their collarbones.

Both actually. Pretty messed up.

It ain't over until it's over...

Oh, snap! :lol

I'm not sure if I ever posted pics here of my Forever suit, but this was my first attempt at a batsuit, and I wish I didn't have to sell it last year. this was one of the early stages, still needed fixing in some areas, but for the most part this was the finished panther suit. the gloves in particular were gorgeus, made by some guy in Belgium on ebay.

IMPRESSED. Props to you, puns intended!

I hope it was 30 below the night you wore it, I can imagine how hot that suit would be.

Thank you so much for the compliments guys! :) believe me its appreciated. I am 6'1 and I do exercise so I wanted to look in val kilmer shape when I wore it, not like some super fat or super skinny under shape guy. The suit was fun but also a bit tough to put together, but I think it turned out pretty excellent once it was all done.

I actually just put up a video I made of the batsuit I made last year that I filmed out on my porch. forgive the akward stances lol, it was only a kind of preliminary video testing out the suit and I wanted to video tape it but never thought anyone would see it, but its the only video I have of me in the suit. it still needed some work, but it was mostly done in the video. the kneecap armor is missing, that still had to be added. I only had the video on a camcorder tape, so I had to record it with my dig cam and then upload the video. I just put it up on youtube, so here it is:

Right now im working on pieceing together a Returns suit. I just recently bought the cowl, now I need the armor. I was fortunate with the Forever suit, the guy I bought it from gave me a great deal on the whole thing, but this time its more pricey. but it will happen!

Well, keep up the good work, man. I must say that having a few Batsuits on display would be one hell of a centerpiece. Do you only make them for cosplay or would you get a mannequin to display them on or something?

Well sadly I had to sell my Forever suit last year, needed the funds, but the suit I am making and future suits I am certainly NOT selling. I do plan on getting a manaquin to display my suits, and yes I do wear them to events as well. Its just always beena childhood dream to own a real movie style batsuit, and as an adult that dream hasn't gone away, and thanks to the internet and all these small companies making these armor and tutorials how to put it all together, its entirely possible to do!

haha I told you it was a bit akward, I look ridiculous and never thought that video would see the light of day, but its the only video I have showcasing the suit lol. of course it wasn't 100% complete yet, I would say like 85% finished in the video I was just giving it a "test run".

I love the fact that you have the ***** to post videos of yourself in a bat suit and make these yourself.

:clap and :rock

Yeah, I gotta give it to him on that one.

Personally, I never saw the issue peeps have with the cosplaying thing. I don't think I'd have the ***** to dress up like Batman or any other character and walk around. :lol But I don't really get the fact that people want to make fun of it when they have a room full of dolls. :lol

i guess it all depends on the person. I love the fantasy of it. I can almost feel the way the actors must have felt when they get into this suit, and the feeling of being this thing other then yourself. Of course I think you also have to have a certain love for whatever your doing. I have been batman virtually every Halloween when I was a kid, and I watched the films so many times, I just never fell out of love for the whole thing. that goes for other films as well, here is a pic of the one other time consuming costume I put together:

That's a great GB costume there BF. You show a great deal of skill and application to getting things right. We are regular convention/signing/memorabilia event attendees (2 or three times per year) and so the concept of cosplay is not in anyway new or unusual to us. As evidence by this,

Our son when he was 7, as Superman...

LukeasSuperman9.jpg

He took third prize that year and was awarded his prize (a cap, a T-Shirt and a keyring) from the actress Dee Wallace. He would never do it now though, he's 15 and at 'that' age. We were thinking of cosplaying as family of Zombies...Mr and Mrs N. Dead + son, and will get that done for a show we are attending in November.

Cosplay is a fun and funny experience and quite liberating. No matter what level of expertise you have in costume making, people will always appreciate someone that has made the effort.
