1966 Batmobile is clocking up the time now.First shown SDCC 2012,was"coming soon" last September.I have a feeling they will have completely redone it and it will be perfect.

I had no idea Reeve Superman had that kind of wait that's wild. I started with the Keaton Bats in April 2012 so Reeve was readily available at that point. I've been waiting on this line since I found out Hot Toys existed and I didn't know whether or not this kind of a waiting period is normal or not. It's too bad I have so little interest in Marvel characters because I'd have a new figure to look forward to every month it seems. But I guess I'd rather they take their time and get it right instead of trying to shove something out the door. It's just the lack of information that makes the waiting suck so much!

it would be nice to see 1992 batman returns batman available to buy out of nowhere, just like old toys back in the day, you strolled through the glorious videogame section at toys r us before getting through the toy section and find new released action figures, like kenner jurassic park, batman returns, or the animated series...

well although unrelated "batman's" 25th anniversary is just around the corner so maybe we'll get the special release for "batman returns" then?

i know they are two different movies but it is the same director, im just trying to stay positive

lets see what the good lord says

With the amount of demand they have for BR figures, i'm surprised they haven't made them yet. They would sell so quickly.

Both right. If there had been a company producing HT-level Batman collectibles in 1989...and the internet was as ubiquitous then as it is now so Batman fan collectors had a messageboard anything like this back then...I'd bet my last dollar that the hysteria surrounding the Burton Batman products (praise AND nitpicking AND demand for custom commissions to take them to the "next level") would be leagues beyond anything we've experienced from the most hard core nitpickers among the Nolan fans.

It's just about timing. Products based on the Nolan trilogy benefited from the perfect storm of being released at a time when highly-detailed collectibles were becoming more popular and widely accessible than ever before, (not to mention the internet making worldwide communication and the selling/trading of that product much easier than it was in 1989). But even with all of the volume of Nolan product (and discussion/nitpicking/moaning) about that product, it PALES in comparison to the Batmania of 1989. Could you imagine this board if it (and Hot Toys Batman stuff of this quality) existed back then? I have no doubt it would be much more intense than even the highest moments of Nolan fan hype in 2007/2008.

The collectible market wasn't quite up to speed either for adults but I know what you mean. The craze was so overwhelming back then that virtually anything with a bat symbol or Nicholson's mug did sell and would sell. The power of branding was much stronger and we were all just basking in the glow. Batman 89 was so much more of a cultural phenomenon than the entire Nolan trilogy put together. Batman shirts, haircuts, stationary, alarm clocks, hygiene products... the hunger could not be satiated. Movies in general don't grab people like that anymore, too many other mediums compete for attention now.

Glorious time that Batmania in '89. I remember everyone had that black baseball cap with the yellow logo.

I got yellow sheets because I had a black comforter at the time. The hype was much more fun than the movie turned out to be.

Uh. I know I wasn't the only one who wore out their vhs tape version and memorized the opening Looney Tunes intro. Count yourself lucky, I guess... Mr. Frownypants!

:lol

Come on... the movie wasn't really that good. The Burton 'world' was awesome... the movie, not so much.

Come on... It actually was. I would take it any day over any superhero flick of the past 2 decades.

Just my opinion though. Maybe I should head over to a Nolan thread and share it. I do so love peeing in other people's cheerios.

Oh wait... No I don't. I am content sticking to the Burton threads and feel no need to go over there to dog what they like. I am weird like that.

Right on man!

I agree. If they did a Michelle Pfeiffer Catwoman and if it looked spot on, then it might be one of Hot Toys best sellers ever!
