Up at Alter Ego for $283

Yep, but with 5% back and free shipping Sideshow ends up being a better deal. I don't know what AE will charge for shipping, but any more than $15 (which with something this big it will be) Sideshow ends up being less.

Re: Avatar: 1/6th scale Avatar Jake Sully Collectible Figure

I had both the Silk Spectre and the Comedian and I thought they were great characters but because of their relationship it was creepy displaying them together and then the Comedian started leaking and his suit started corroding and when Hot Toys refused to fix it I knew the line was stone cold dead, which is a real shame it would have been a killer display. I sold Silk Spectre cause it would to display her alone and the Comedian got parted out.

As far as the Avatar line goes, I wonder if it will be short lived because of the price. If you want Jake and say a possibly Ney'tiri you are looking at almost $700. I just not sure people will support it. There has to be a ceiling as to what people can be expected to pay before they just can't justify it.

Re: Avatar: 1/6th scale Avatar Jake Sully Collectible Figure

I've waited a long time (since the film came out like most people) for a decent figure of Jake, and at first, I really liked this, but the more I look at it, the less I like it, the joints are what put me off the most, his feet are terrible. Plus I am kind of baulking at the price...

This is the best figure you will ever get of Jake. I think he look's great and I can't wait to see Neytiri. If I could afford this or I was still on the Avatar buzz (early 2010) I would be all over this.

Re: Avatar: 1/6th scale Avatar Jake Sully Collectible Figure

Its a regular release (no exclusive) so I don't think it will sell out anytime soon.

But, if I'm not mistaken... using RP on this means you will not get free shipping and definitely won't get an RP for the purchase.

Unless you can cover the entire price with RP I'd save them as you could loose out on $45+ (free shipping and $15 in RP) on this purchase.

Re: Avatar: 1/6th scale Avatar Jake Sully Collectible Figure

If there weren't so many items dropping 4th quarter...:( No way I can do $314.99 with that NRD either.

Re: Avatar: 1/6th scale Avatar Jake Sully Collectible Figure

I just did a currency exchange and I got £195 or something close, which is about what I paid for my Hot Toys Predalien in my local Forbidden Planet, when it first came out. As long as it stays below £200, then I'm happy most of the time. So the price isnt too bad in my view for such a big thing, but I only wish it had come out earlier or a bit later when there werent so many cool figures being released, like the 1/6th scale general grievous :slap But anyway what does my view matter in the greater scheme of things anyway :dunno

Re: Avatar: 1/6th scale Avatar Jake Sully Collectible Figure

m glad im getting the neytri polystone statue... for 260 dollars

Re: Avatar: 1/6th scale Avatar Jake Sully Collectible Figure

Looks like the SSC Neytiri statue is the only Avatar collectible without crazy sticker price. Unfortunately that's the one I'm least inclined to own.

After $170 for Baby Doll $315 for a giant character from a movie most people actually like definitely seems par for the course.

I really like this figure but I'll wait and see what else HT and SSC have in store at SDCC before I pull the trigger and place a deposit though.

That Bespin Luke DX announcement and state-of-the-badass-art Boba Fett and IG-88 have me all kinds of giddy for the time being.

Re: Avatar: 1/6th scale Avatar Jake Sully Collectible Figure

I really wish this wasn't dropping at the same time as everything else. If the timing was better, I'd probably preorder it no problem.

Re: Avatar: 1/6th scale Avatar Jake Sully Collectible Figure

For that price? No visible joints and accurate hands and feet. If that's not too much to ask.

They should be giving you this for free Natty, a reward for all those Blu-ray editions you bought. :lol
