FANTASTIC COMPARISON, a perfect example of customers buying the character, not the film...
A movies quality means nothing if it has unique characters/design seen no where else. People are buying the character design not the plot/acting or box office gross.
AVP:R = horrible film, fantastic looking Predator = SOLD
Green Lantern = bad film, fantastic looking main character = SOLD
Spider-Man 3 = very bad film, fantastic Spider-Man costume = SOLD
Green Lantern will unique from any other HT and will be one of the ones people don't care about until the pics/specs go up and they are amazed and order.
Plus a built-in DC fanbase of the GL comic fans and JLA fans who'd get it to go with Bats & Supes

Hardly anybody on the bigger scale of things know who the hell Green Lantern is. Even casual super hero fans. I think its safe to say a good amount more people know what a Predator is.

Same with Ghost Rider & Blade (Blade is hardly ever in the Marvel books), both fantastic and profitable figures for HT
The point is the AVP:R figure sold because of the character not the film, the same will happen with the Green Lantern people will see the figure and judge it on it's cool factor not on the film.

I really enjoyed the Green Lantern movie. I would never buy the figure but i know it could be a very cool one especially with a green race car diorama kind of thing and loads of big green gadgets.

I'll be the first to say it. I don't think a Ryan Reynolds Green Lantern figure would look that cool.

In terms of Green Lantern, I hated Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan so I'm not going to buy the figure just have a green lantern in my collection. Why? B/c it's still a depiction of Ryan Reynolds' Green Lantern. I'd rather wait years for the eventual reboot or just not have a GL in the collection
In terms of predator, to me; it doesn't matter if the movie sucked b/c a predator regardless of the movie is a badass and you don't have a face to go with it to say "that actor was terrible as so and so." change GL to a better actor it can make all the difference to who wants to buy and who doesn't.
In the end we all hav our own reasons for buying what we want. And I think at this stage HT are going to sell out no matter what.

Nor me, I actually did like the film though but the suit itself was a bit meh that doesn't lead one to think that a figure of said suit would be anything other than meh as well

I would at least like to see a Hot Toys Green Lantern Reynolds figure.
I think if done right it could be cool if it got some sort of lights to illuminate the suit or something to give it a glow effect!
I know the movie was not a good movie but there was something about it I liked. I am not even a big advocate of Reynolds either but there ya go.

While the second half of the movie was rushed and pretty plotless... Still like it more than the original AVP bcoz: 1) Predator looks almost like THE PREDATOR; 2) Aliens and the City; 3) Predalien; 4) verrrry nostalgic atmosphere (while "Predators" was nostalgicless, lol).
Praying for the reissued all new Wolf!

So what are we looking at with Jake here as to him being released? Sideshow is saying a Q2 release so sometime in the summer? I should go ahead and put $300 aside now for him because I know once the TDKR and Avengers figures start coming, I'll end up passing on Jake

I wanted this figure in 2010 and 2011. I have a feeling this figure will bomb, not because of the figure itself but because of the crazy amount of licenses HT's will be pushing out this year. The Noland figure will be the same. Would you guys rather be buying a new Avenger or Batman figure this summer or this...

True. I don't recall the last time sideshow had both predator and Iron man figures in stock at the same time for such a long time after they had been released..
