Good Toy, Bad collective figure..............a big disappointment to me. Many unions are exposed, bad paint, high price and no DX quality, damage the final product, a nice toy

Today Hot Toys = high prices for poor quality figures.

At last!! Jake came out nice. :clap

Glad they fixed the feet from the prototype.

I can't wait to have this guy in hand!

After further examination of the figure, I'm a bit disappointed by the paint job. Seems to me that they rushed it, not only with the paint but for an example they removed the lights from the yellow things that sticks out from the tree... I've got a few more complaints, but I'll leave that for later when I get home. But I'm still getting the figure!

So your further examination is based on pictures?... :lol!

Looks great! HT looks like they did a great job on this one :rock
:lecture

I am very happy with how this came out. Cannot wait to get him!
:exactly:

Good Toy, Bad collective figure..............
"Hot TOYS"... and it's a GREAT collectible...

a big disappointment to me. Many unions are exposed,
It's a poseable Action Figure, don't like that... buy statues! :dunno

bad paint,
Are you for real?...

high price

Considering the size, new body and details, and the current prices of figures, I wouldn't say it's high priced...

and no DX quality,
It's an MMS figure, never announced as a DX... even so, the difference would be only adding PERS,
and most people agree it actually isn't that good of a feature.

damage the final product, a nice toy
What damage?

HT has always had high prices... poor quality, depends on the figure

Wow, looks like a big and detailed Hasbro figure... For $310... Hope this is the last 2012 "surprise".
It's sad to HT can't cope with all that stuff they got into.

First time I'd rather buy a statue from SSC (if they were correctly scaled).

:slap:slap:slap

No they are based on faith. WTF do you think? YES, the pictures! And it's not my final judgement, just my thoughts of what I can see.

I know photos can make the figure look weird or worse than it actually is, I argued that IN SOME (note: IN SOME) of OMG's photos the figures looked deformed and the exaggerated details made it look awful. No no no, "they are perfect" people said.

The paint app looks average from what I can see. Then I don't like how you can see where the plastic parts of the chest go together on the sides and the same on the shoulders.

What I would like to see is photos of these figures in a "natural" environment, not photos taken in a photo studio where the photos have been edited as well.

I'm still getting this figure because it's Avatar dammit. James Cameron has brainwashed me, I mean: "It's the will of Eywa". :lol

It takes a lot to impress RIDDICK.

Apparently not since he likes the Riddick movies...
:panic:

Sorry it's just that every time a figure is released we see the same patterns... panic, nit-picking, photoshopped "improvements" and when people finally get the figures, all is good... :lol

I agree.

But I also agree with his points on this one.

I don't... specially the price... you can get it cheaper somewhere else... and Hasbro cannot make Avatar figures, the license is with Mattel... ;)
j/k

And as much as I like the Neytiri statue by SS, the paint details on Sully are waaaaay better!

I can't believe some people aren't happy about this figure but then again this is SS Freaks, some are never happy. I'm happy with with it though & that's all that matters really :D

I'm pretty impressed with the paint work on this... it does look a bit shiny in a few pics, but the details are there and the eyes are particularly life-like.

The price is high, but it has been since the get-go so at this point the price is moot... either you're gonna pony-up for it or move on. I'm happy to spend money on this one and will happily display it in the collection.

Serious? The paintwork on this is nothing short of spectacular, the minute detail is insane, best HT have done yet in that department, Joints are figures, figures are joints don't like it buy statues.

This figure screams spectacular, everything about it is amazing, i don't see any other figure this year with this level of paintwork or intricate detail on costuming.

Definite contender for FOTY

BOUGHT! .

For those complaining about the price, Iron Monger is around $175 more and not too much bigger and comes with less :lecture

And people are stating they'll buy Hulk for $500 :slap

So far IT comes with "articulated fingers" palms, lots of light-up features (repulsors, eyes, ARC reactor, machine gun, rocket launchers), attachable foot jets AND part of the Obadiah figure with almost perfect Jeff Bridges likeness.
Not to mention that this is FREAKING IRON MONGER!

Jake Sully figure comes with a toy looking body, cheap looking paint, some BFG, head that bears no resemblance to the actor (not a joke, read specs) and has a dull face expression. Everything else is a self-evident things.

the body is ok as always, the head is a BIG problem, wtf his eyes are the size of a planet.
He is not like that in the movie, I was looking forward to see articulation on the ears but well... :slap

still gonna get him:peace

Jake Sully is no HULK. :lol :nana:

But yeah, that's just crazy talk. Good god I hope Hulk isn't anywhere near $500. There's just no freaking way I'm paying more than $300 for any of these toys.

I think there's a few options where I can get Jake for just under $300, but wow, would I be pushing it...
