Because they have no access to the actor's likeness :monkey2

Are you serious?... Sully in his Avatar is not exactly Sam Worthington's mug...
:slap

He's not so big afterall... Oh well.

:lol
Sorry it's just that every time a figure is released we see the same patterns... panic, nit-picking, photoshopped "improvements" and when people finally get the figures, all is good... :lol

Depends on how you see it. Someone could see what I said as "panic" and "nit-picking" when all I am doing is just talking. In my opinion, that's what the forum's for. To talk, discuss and state your thoughts and opinions about things. I don't like it when people on this forum complain about the people who makes criticism of these figures/statues. Should everyone just put a happy smile on their face, lie all the time and just praise the product? :dunno

:)

I'm planning on buying a custom made acrylic display case for this figure, what size should I go for? Thinking like: H 53cm x W 30cm x D 30cm? Opinions?

Looks blah to me- very toy-like- just don't see the "extra HT effort" put into this. It's nice but not $300 nice. Was on the pass side but told myself if this was really incredible I would buy it...now that I've seen in hand pics...meh. Easy pass till it goes on clearance for $200....

he seems unusually feminine. In all the pictures regardless of the photographer looks like he's striking a victoria secret pose.

There's something very toyish about this figure.

I know a tall nude blue alien is tough to do but still... I like the real feathers, but the waist belt, straps, knife sheath, all of it looks like plastic. Even the "ponytail" looks a bit like Barbie.

Yeah- Mattel-like..not lofty quality of HT........:slap

I get a slap for that? :dunno

I mean, just because its a "toy" doesn't mean it should look like it.

I do not believe HT to be lofty is any way, believe me, but many times their extras -- belts, buckles and things -- really look nice, like on Sparrow or even their old Cannibal Jack hat. This Jake figure has a lot of cheap looking parts to me. Maybe that's a result to keep the price where it needs to be, I don't know. I'm just sayin'

Yes, I am.
:wave

And the point is?

You mentioned they don't have access to the actor's likeness according to you... and it really doesn't matter since the character in the movie doesn't have the actor's likeness either... just a small resemblance :dunno

Nah, I'm just saying that people shouldn't pass judgment based solely on pictures... if you have it in hand and still find it "toy-ish" or saying that an Iron Man figure has more "value" than this guy is completely missing the point. I'm not directing my comments to you, but to some people here that are just waaay to spoiled and hyperbolic with their statements!
:peace

Is hard to think those figures are even a little related, I think a cat and the moon have more similarities than those two lol
Jake its ok, now... lets start our countdown for Neytiri :yess:

(stop complaining about joints, its really POINTLESS its a figure people, don't like it? get a statue and leave HT alone:peace)
