Finally got him in from Alter Ego. Disappointed to find they didn't double box him- even though this wasn't a free ship item.

It also looked like someone opened the brown shipper and then resealed it.

Given how much longer it took to get here than usual, I was thinking someone must have been playing with it, but the actual seal on the window box looks undisturbed...unless I didn't look closely enough.

I haven't take the figure out, but it's head is turned to the side in the box.
Weird.

That sucks...but just to let you know, I received a fresh double boxed item and my Thanos's head was also turned to the side.

If I had two of Thanos, it?d for sure be this and IW. EG BD just doesn?t appeal to me.

Agreed.

But as it stands I only have this one and I am more than happy with it. IMO this one is the definitive version, this is not a knock on the other versions (including the GOTG) and as a person with a one figure per character rule, this one does it for me.

Thanks, gmoney.

I took a closer look at all the seals and I honestly couldn't tell on some of them. Probably just being paranoid, and if anyone did take it out, they put it back very carefully so not a big deal.

Nice figure, which I know will make a good backdrop for some others once I get around to actually displaying them.

TBH, as nice as this is I would have cancelled it a couple months back when everything went south.

I need to be more circumspect with my "toy money", and this wouldn't have made the cut if I hadn't already thrown $100 in rewards points at it.
Keeping it has now made picking up Nebula even more mandatory for me- so "saving" a $100 is actually gonna cost me $225 more :lol

The hoops we jump through and the things we tell ourselves to justify the purchase...that's all part of this hobby. :lol

Silly question and probably answered.

Will he be ok on a detour shelf ?. Weight wise ?.

Never had anything other than a regular 12" figures and on and off of getting this of eBay. Just unsure of the shelving situation and also on a pose in the, tight for him space.

Many thanks

I have had my Infinity War Thanos sitting on a glass block on a detolf shelf for over a year. It will be fine.

Excellent and good news, thank you. Helps some towards my agony of deciding what to do.
Was thinking between a sat pose, helmet on sword in ground or a standing with sword aimed frontwards if possible.
Just the shelf space, possibly rising a shelf and who to pair with maybe.

Agony of collecting on a budget in this HT hike world.

You can always grab a half shelf. That way you're not changing the levels or symmetry in your display.

This one is made by one of our members. I ordered mine earlier today for Thanos specifically. I had a custom glass one made once to fit Gladiator Hulk, it's great.

You can also find Stoney's Stands on Facebook. He has three versions to pick from at various prices.

Awesome suggestion!

Agreed a great solution. Unsure if it's something I can get cheap in the UK but I've seen full acrylic shelves on eBay and can always get the jigsaw out.

Still torn on to buy or not, along with a handful of other figures.
Think if Thanos is the buy, I'll get him in hand first and have a look at the sitting idea first.
Due to my years in 40k miniatures, I can fabricate good looking rocks or metal. May try to make a seat for him (not actually sure of what he sits on in Endgame).

Edit - Also. I'm in the UK, unsure if that would effect postage costs or import fees much for such a thing but....
Is there someone the board knows that does custom metal name plates for the bigger Dio stands ?.
See that Thanos has a lame plastic one but would also love ones for Marty Mcfly 2, Infinity War Thor.....a lot.
Kind want them more than just a name, would like something like what the stands currently have but metal.

Evilface does them. I think he has a thread in the commerce section. Failing that Coclocoboy does stands and works with Evilface for the nameplates as far as I know.

Hoody,

Seeing your comments to cloud warrior reminded me that one of the things I like so much about this forum is how helpful members are when it comes to offering suggestions, critiques, alternatives, and providing support and encouragement. For instance Sassafras’ suggestions saved me from some disasters with my Loki figure (just one example).
Cheers
