Yeah, I'm a geek for Shellhead . . .so sue me. :nana:

Or better yet, why not actually contribute to the discussion?
Why not talk up your beloved Jade Jaws?

Oh yeah . . . that would require some effort. :slap
Oh come on.. it was just a friendly dig. :wink1:

Sure - I'll throw my suggestions in. I've been seriously wondering what a quality HT Hulk would look like for the longest time. There are specific things that I think they need to get right if the figure is to be a success:

* Match the skin colour properly to the movie Hulk.
* NO soft rubber parts, rather a mix of plastic & hard rubber pieces.
* A mid torso joint is essential.
* Hinged toes for better poses.
* Two heads - closed mouth (angry) & open mouth (raging)
* Pants need to be tailored so they look stretched / torn, but not cut with scissors like Lou Ferrigno's pants.
* Lots of different gesturing hands - i.e; fists, open palms, gripping hands (metal bars, tank canons, helicopter tails), open 'raging' hands - etc.
* Scale has to be right too.. he's looking he should be around 18" - maybe a little shorter, from the film grabs so far.

That's a start anyway. :)

Im not sure about a Torso joint I think they could do the same thing they did with Classic Pred to maintain the muscular physique. I appreciate the torso joint but it depends on how they do it, they would would really need to make it blend. I like what Hasbro has done with their new Hulk figure but Dont know how it will look at such large scale.

The hinged toe joint is kinda controversial. In the Avatar thread people seem very divided on how it looks. I feel, on such a tall figure, the toe joint was necessary for added stability. But agree it takes away from the overall presentation. HT have to be careful where they put joints on Hulk cause you dont want him to look like a giant kids toy. Maybe they could have two pairs of sculpted feet, flat/bent.

For the hands, Im not sure its in the movie but I want to have clapping hands to do his shock wave attack

So far Hulk doesn't appear to be anywhere near nine feet. I'd say max 15" they way he looks in the trailer, but he's going to be one chunky monkey!

I cant wait to get all these, i want an awesome hulk, a long haired thor sleeveless, a new cap with evans headsculpt (battle damaged suit as extra would be cool) short haired black widow, iron man and fury, do you think im hoping for too much, i just cant see them not making all of them and of course a new loki

Man I didn't even think of that but no matter what color Hulk's skin is a lot of people won't be happy about it.

Yeah I think the mass has a lot more impact than the size. Everything I have ever heard says plastic is actually pretty expensive which is why all the big toy makers keep going smaller and smaller. So I'd bet that a 15" Hulk (assuming he's not rotocast or something) would cost more than a 18" Navi. Or hell even Iron Monger since Iron Monger is hallow. That leaves out molding and R&D costs though, just talking about the plastic. I'm sure the molds and R&D where ridiculous on Iron Monger. I wouldn't be surprised if they spent many years developing Monger.

I think that Hulk would really benefit from a ball jointed torso. His skin is pretty much just green - with muscular highlights here & there of course, but essentially - green. I can see why a Predator figure wouldn't look as good with one - the body has intricate paint details all over it, & overlapping body sections with said joint just makes the figure look toy-ish in that regard, for sure. Green on green would look ok..

Regarding the toe joints - maybe a harder rubber 'skin' section in the front part of the feet - with a joint underneath, might be an option. He'll be a heavy bugger though, so placing any kind of above average stress on said joints would be a bad idea. I think HT could do some nice hinges for Hulk's toes.

Yeah, flat open palms for the clapping thing.. I kinda mentioned that. :monkey3

I really like the torso joint. I don't think it really does much to hurt the look of a figure since it tends to fall on a very natural sort of "cut" along the rib cage. The hinged feet I don't really see the need for. How often do you actually want to pose a figure with it's toes bent? Other than mid-walk/run and extreme crouching poses (where you can't really see the back foot anyway) there's not even a need for that joint.

Wow, I love how we've now got the possibility to get a remarkable 1/6 Hulk in all his glory.. yet it's still Iron Man up the wazoo as far as discussion. :lol

Personally, I want every character in 1/6.

However, your observation regarding how discussion is still revolving around Iron Man, validates why Hot Toys makes so many versions of Iron Man. IMO.

Likewise!

Two heads - closed mouth (angry) & open mouth (raging)

:exactly:

Absolutely . . . the Hulk must have an open mouth barbaric yawp sculpt. If HT gives him a neutral-to-blank Thor-like expression, then it will be a lost opportunity.

I never thought about dual heads, though. That would be supreme, because a closed-mouth pensive head would be cool.

The Hulk's gonna cost a small fortune, though. Adding another sculpt would only jack the price further.

And I'd have to say "no" to hinged feet. Toybiz's old Marvel Legends did that joint pretty well, but in sixth scale it seems to me to only render the piece as more toy-like.

instead of a hinged toe joint, they could give him two sets of feet. The feet swap easily and my guess would be that the ankle pegs would be similar to the wrist pegs instead of the barbell.

That way there is no loss of support in loose tow joints yet you can still achieve similar poses

I got bored...

Okay, so admittedly this is just an advertising image for Hardly-ableson:

But assumming the relative scales are fairly accurate, an HT Hulk would have to be bigger than just 14 inches tall.

Granted, this looks 'shopped by an eighth-grader . . . but Greenskin is ginormous! He looks like he could bearhug the rest of the group. Imagine that on your shelf . . .:monkey1

I hope you are right on all accounts.

That may be 8th grader standard photo shopping.. but it's better than anything I could attempt! :lol

Yeah, I wonder how big he's really supposed to be in the new film. Actually.. I think I've been waiting for a huge, high quality, realistic looking Hulk collectible all my life. When I was small, the large inflatable, shirt ripping, rubber Hulk in the cage was like a grail to me.. but I never had the opportunity to own one. :monkey2

I thought I was excited about the HT Bespin Luke (huge fan), but I think if they get Hulk right.. he might be THE highlight of my collection. :panic:

In terms of looks:

Captain America = Cool
Iron Man = Cool
Thor = Cool
Hulk = Cool
Black Widow = Cool
Hawk Eye = Meh

Normally I would agree as I don't find anything particularly exciting about his character. Espeically as a stand alone. However, I'm excited to see what HT does with the bow and arrows. I think they could make him look cool. Plus, I don't think I could be able to walk past my eventual Avengers movie team collection and not have him there. No one would notice but me of course, but... I would notice. LOL :cuckoo:

I think Hawkeye might make a very good figure as well, okay he's probably the least important character in the film but him and his bow/arrow could look awesome in 1/6 scale
