The NECA beat easily the SS with the 18" ! The PAINT on the SS looks like ____ (the brown, hehe) and NECA have the much better sculpt.

The Paint-Job on the SS is cheaper than MEZZCO, totally wrong colour. Look at the chest or the hand;: PFUI !!!!

I remember showing my mom those and she said "Those better cost $50 because they look cheap and ____ty." Latter on that summer I finally convinced her to get me Scar for my birthday, it was constant pestering her. She couldn't understand the attraction I had to them. She really couldn't swallow the $130 price tag. Well, funny thing is, now she has no problem with hot Toys and the prices are much higher. I still think back to that magical summer and wonder what would have happened if my mom had not gotten me Scar....

To think how big Hot Toys has become from the beginning of the Movie Masterpiece series is really astonishing.

I'll never forget the day that I got my Scar from China...it was from the first batch to be released over there. Little did I know what was next...haha.

I actually really enjoyed putting them together when they were figure kits as well. You start out with a whole bunch of parts and when you're finally done, you have this amazing figure standing in front of you. It was pretty satisfying.

The day that I got it a friend came over and we put it together throughout the afternoon, got some lunch, and admired it some more afterward. It really was an "event." Up until that point, there was nothing really like it out on the market. Needless to say, I ordered the Celtic to go along with the Scar the same day I built the Scar. I had never spent so much on any collectible...and it was SOOOO worth it.

*sheds tear* See, guys? This is the kind of magic we need in this thread. I'd hug every single one of you if I wasn't at my comp in a totally different state.

I have a sliiiiiiiight issue, though. A couple weeks back, I was messing with my shelves and my Celtic (yeah, I know; nearly shot myself) fell down. Nothing broke at all, thank God. But a tiny bit of the black paint from the sides of the ridges at the back of his head chipped off. Wondering if anyone knows a good paint pen that can touch up the area. I'd like the paint to be dull too, like acrylic. I won't touch it up with Sharpie, because it has that shiny purple tint to it.
