Wow this is such an amazing surprise... Was checking the hot toys fb page for pictures of Robocop and got this gem. Is a definite buy for me... I have always wanted to own an actual DeLorean car.

With ALL the releases coming that I have on preorder, this estimated release date (as much as I'd want it NOW) is actually a nice relief to know that I could preorder when it goes up and then not worry about it financially for another 2 years, haha!

After the delay of the 1989 Batmobile's release, i think HT's just being realistic this time. Plenty of time to save up for this car for those who are getting it!

It's actually good that this is officially launched now and will be up for PO soon, even with the release being almost 2 years away. If this goes up for PO like 6 months from now, HT might think they could jack up a price a little just because $650-700 for a 1/6 car is so 2013-2014.

The 1966 Batmobile, on the other hand...

It's actually good that this is officially launched now and will be up for PO soon, even with the release being almost 2 years away. If this goes up for PO like 6 months from now, HT might think they could jack up a price a little just because $650-700 for a 1/6 car is so 2013-2014.

The 1966 Batmobile, on the other hand...

or even actually start work on the 66' Batmobile When the heck is that supposed to get put up for PO anyway?

Damn, that's a long wait but the price is good (considering the price of Iron Monger and the Batmobile). However I was hoping for a full modification into the BTTF2 Delorean. Not sure if I should wait for that version... I'm afraid it might never come. What do you guys think? Where do you stand on that?

I cant see it happening As much as having the Mr.Fusion bottle bank added to the back and wheels that can fold up in fly mode would be amazing! I think Hot Toys will have their hands full mass producing the original BTTF Delorean design...

However, in the future? Maybe...but then I don't think most people would have the space to display 3 different movie versions of the Delorean at 1/6 scale

Yeah. The '66 Batmobile was shown 2 years ago (?) at SDCC yet we still haven't seen official photos and specs of it, while the DeLorean goes up barely 2 months after its first appearance at the show. Something's happening and we can only speculate.

If HT's happy with the response towards the DeLorean -- the way they're happy with the collectors' reception towards their Marty McFly figure which I think is why DeLorean's officially announced soon after -- maybe they would be generous enough to add swap-on parts?

I would buy this DeLorean and keep it as mint as possible. You can always sell it later if HT ever decides to do BTTFII. But there's no guarantees of that happening.
