I would get the lightning rod hook but I don't think it will fit in my fish tank.

It's all about what you want to display yours like. I far prefer the PT2 version, not just because it can fly, but mainly because it never has any problems. In the first one Marty has no plutonium, and in PT3, no gas. That's not the car's fault, but the fault of Marty and the circumstances he is in getting away from the libyans.
In PT2, using the V3.0 car, they make seven trips through time, and it is never hampered by lack of power or gas. It's the true version of the car that we get to see acting like a thoroughbred. It flies like a jet, and never lets them down until it gets struck by lightning again. I love the V3.0 from PT2 because it's always on the go and although they face challenges, the car is never a problem for them. I doubt Doc ever intended the car to do so much travelling in such a short space of time, but the car is perfect in PT2.
On another note, mine arrived. Nothing seems to be loose or fallen off, nothing missing and only one small blemish i can see on the front left side of the dark grey panel on the front of the car. And it could actually be weathering...
So i am happy.

I'm thinking there's a reason they left the rod off. As there are five versions of the car in the movies, each with specific modifications, perhaps it's because of the version they are doing. I reckon this is V2 of the car, with the mount for the lightning rod and clock on the dash. Although this *is* the version Marty uses to escape 1955, it's also(Perhaps more importantly), the one that Doc uses to leave 1985 heading to the future.

The first person to buy a lightning rod hook from me had the same dilemma. He was using the fish tank method for his display. He ended up mounting the hook on the passenger side of the DeLorean, as it look on film when Marty was at the starting line before the car turned off. Genius really.

That's smart. I'd get one, but $110 is a lot and I just spent a lot to get everything that I needed for the Delorean to be displayed.

Oh I understand. When it came to my 89 Batmobile, I went all out for a Proper display in my office. Lots of money went into that thing over all and I had to get rid of a book shelf in my office for the space.

....that's right, I chose a plastic model over books. Done did it, done said it. Im very happy with the end result.

Had a look at this on eBay. It's a good start. Deffanaly not movie accurate. Im currently working on one that will be close to movie accurate. Will post pictures when I get more completed. These are the parts I have so far. He actually uses a large fishing rod for the rod in one scene you can see it still has two fishing rod loops that the main cable runs through.
