I think mine is coming tomorrow too :yess:
And it looks like my display case might arrive tomorrow or maybe the day after, excitement. :horror

I have just realized there was some hiccup here in this thread over me posting progress photos of my work on this expensive Hot Toys DeLorean.
My apologies if my photos are not about a custom light-up display case or an upside down fish tank. (Which is genius btw). Not to bash anyone who has, because that is why I enjoy coming here, to read and see everyone's ideas and realizations come to life. It has been an enjoyable experience and a positive one.

That being said, I have yet to see anyone else tackle the obvious missing Lghtning rod hook, or in this case a modification or enhancement of any kind. I figured I can share my progress and show others what options are really available over where Hot Toys found their stopping point.

Anyways, Can the mods please tell me if I need to make a new thread elsewhere? ... or can I definitely continue posting my progress pics here. Please let me know. I am originally posting my progress at the Replica Prop Forum (RPF). I figured I can do the same on this forum.

...until then, here's an update...

...With a big help from a friend at another forum, I was given a 3D printed Mr Fusion to use, which looks great! It arrived broken in pieces and it still needs a lot of work, but this piece alone has cut my time in half! ;) This is not the final look, I used a bit of glue and some sharpie pens to mock up what modding I need to do to properly finish it. So this gives me an idea what it will look like.
On that note, I'm looking forward to dismantling the back end to make this piece fit on a new base. Here the pics... Nothing has been dismantled yet. It's all reference only right now.

Keep posting your mods here wookie, I like seeing your progress. I can't imagine why its a problem as it is in no way off topic and potentially helpful to others trying to make improvements. If you don't mind sharing, I'm wondering what materials you used for the lightning rod? Keep up the great work.

Great pics duo:clap I like the way your set up came out

Yea, I fudged up a little cutting the LED strip down. But man it wasn't easy trying to get the car into the tank without breaking anything. And of course the lid I bought for the tank it cracked, so I have to take that back an exchange it.

So did you buy that led strip lights off amazon that you posted? And you were able to cut it too?
